A New Morning!

One of my favorite pictures.   It was originally a puzzle and a fun one to do, not easy, but fun.
A new day, wonder what is in store for each one of us.
Almost the end of March and then on to April showers which we seem to be having a lot of as this month ends.

Rainy days seem endless, but, only if you allow it to happen.   Lois, Doris and I got together and watched a movie.  Lois, Doris and I talked about what we could do on a rainy afternoon...not much...but Lois has the ability to show movies on her television and invited us to watch one with her.   Doris and I gathered some treats and off we went to watch a movie we had seen a long time ago and enjoyed it all over again.   Robert Redford is always good.  We were served 'a taste' of wine in the tiniest glass I have ever seen.  A real cutie and just enough to claim sipping rights.  We had some salty snacks as well , those tiny curly chips that have a light salty flavor all their own.   A nice way to relax and enjoy an indoor movie on a rainy blustery day.  Good company is always welcome.  The only downside is that you have nothing to write about in the morning blog unless you would like a recap of the movie and I didn't take time out to find out if you did want one or not...I assume you would rather sit and watch a movie by yourself.   Next time I go to the Good Will store I will check on some movies and see if I can find a good one for us to watch and gift Lois with a couple for sharing her machines with us.    There are hundreds there to choose from.   April is the month of showers so maybe we can talk her into inviting us back up for another movie or two.

There are a couple of new deals on going here at Ridgemont.  A new round circle to talk politics or current events,  I have not attended a session as yet, haven't been interested enough on what is on going in the political world and a new group has formed to play some card game.  I'm not a card player so stop and oversee who is winning and say hello but game playing is not my cup of tea.   I'm a movie fan, or a book lover.  Quiet has an appeal all its own.

We are all praying for a little sunshine.  We have had a lot of rainy days, misty ones, and some a little cold still.   We do enjoy the sunshine and the chance to walk out around the buildings or up to the corner and back.    Exercise is what is needed and walking is one of the best.   So today, I hope you have sunshine , a walk around your blocks and a friend or two to drop in and enjoy your hot coffee and a treat.    Be good, be kind, be gentle and share YOU with those you like and love.   Don't forget a good deed or two.   Start with a hug, share a bit of news and relax in the company of someone you like or love.   Be a good friend.   Be a good relative.   Be good just because you can.  Enjoy the day, all day.....you know the drill...'smile and the world smiles with you...weep...well you will be all by yourself as no one knows how to dry up those tears but YOU.    Save them up and use them only when you have to.    Make your today worthwhile and light up your world with a smile.  Go....be YOU.....be wonderful as only you can be.    Have I told you lately that I love you....well darlin' I'm telling you now.     Make your day  'shine' rain drops or not.    Invite a friend to lunch at your favorite restaurant....MacDonald's is still one of the best in town...smile.   Go!!!   Have some fun today.  Hugs to all.

Black Screen

Good morning.  I have a black screen and white printing.  I can't do much about finding a picture or two and will have to wait for the girls to come bye and see if they can get the computer screen back to normal.    Oh to be computer literate.

I opened the blinds and it is pouring rain at the moment.   A catch up kind of day as the refrigerator could stand to be defrosted and cleaned out;   or I can hunker down in my easy chair and pick up on that story I have been following.   . . .  or I could call Patricia and ask her to pick me up and we can watch a Netflick movie later today.    Possibilities on a rainy day.

I am smiling as I have said all of those words before, like posting the same old pictures over and over.    Spring had better spring soon or you will all give up on reading my blog, or I'll give up trying to keep up with all of you.  I am celebrating ten years of blogging;  you didn't know I knew that many words..smile....age is catching up with me and words are getting fewer;  maybe, just maybe because I am not going out and about as much or not finding interesting places and faces to talk about.    How I got started on a daily blog is beyond me, but it has been a lot of fun to keep up with each and every one of you.  I have enjoyed YOU and I wish I had more stories to tell and pictures to show.    If the weather cooperates, I will get out more and find some interesting places to go and words to share.   Having YOU in my life has been a boon and I thank each and every one of you for sharing time and words with me.

So have yourself a day to remember.   Don't forget to stop bye and light a candle and say a little prayer for me too, please and thank you.   I can use a verbal hug.  Make your day special, just like you.    Coffee is ready....aah!!!!   Be good, be kind, be gentle and spread a little love along the way.   Someone in your life needs a lift today, so be the lifter of spirits and share YOU with those you like and love.  Go....have yourself a 'good' day all day.    Hugs to all.

Another Rainy Day

I remember when we suffered to have curls;   well someone must have told us we had to have curls.  I remember the girls trying to iron their hair to make it straight. . . never satisfied. . . we always seem to want what we don't have and fail to appreciate what we do.  I've just had a trip for a haircut and I must say short and sweet is the way to go. . . at this age even bald is beautiful....smile!!
This reminds me of a Bev Doolittle picture, the artist that hides faces in the forest and the trees.
Words of wisdom.   If we only believed how happy we would be.    Take time out and visit your church today, light a candle for those who are in need physically, emotionally, and just because you can.   Say a prayer for me too as I can always use one.

Another rainy day, well I like rain, a good thing or I'd be miserable.   Yesterday Pat and I went out looking to have lunch and most places are closed on Mondays.  We could fix something in house but that is not as much fun as going out and finding some one special treat we don't have at home. We did find some tasty chowder and enjoyed it, then went home to watch a Netflick movie with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.  They  are two characters  who keep you laughing out loud.   A cup of hot tea, a cookie or two, feet up and relax, some way to spend a rainy afternoon.   How lucky I am to have a daughter who likes my company and believe me the feeling is mutual.    Rainy days are good to hunker down and do a lot of nothing but that gets old and we are happiest when busiest.   Today we will 'enjoy' another rainy day, or not..smile....but we have some work to do as we have some materials we can put together to make the special head bands for the upcoming Gallery affair.    A Spring tea if I remember correctly.   Our Christine is off on a business trip and flying off to a new spot today.  We will be hearing some tales when she returns.   She is enjoying sunshine and is having fun teasing us about our rain drops, well we wont get mad but we will find a way to get even.

Speaking of remembering, old age brings about some lesions in the brain;   periods of forgetfulness, but don't panic, the thoughts are there but take longer to go around and spill out again.    You would love to sit at our luncheon table and participate in a bit of conversation.   Talking about a movie we watched and cannot remember the title, the names of the stars but do remember some of the story line.   Working in tandem we finally can tell you the title of the film, who was in it...well not everyone, but one or two and the light and sparkle of remembering turns on.    All I can really tell you is that you are not alone, you are in good company and by the time lunch is over all the details are in place.  So sharing thoughts is good, keeps the brain active and that is what is necessary and needed...you wont find out for some years yet but learn to listen to the old timers as they have walked the walk and wont lead you astray.  Just remember sharing is caring so SHARE YOU with those you like and love.    Be a beacon of light with arms that stretch all the way around....'smile and the world smiles with you;  cry and you cry alone'   so smile today and do something wonderful for some folks you like  as you already do for those you love.    Add a few more to your list of favorites and make today a good day for all.   Hugs to all.

Good Morning!

Good Morning. . . No, you are not going to get a smile, just coffee, tea or cocoa but only if you bring something 'good' to go with it.  A new week, the end week of March and we can look forward to Easter...Mary Janes,  Organdy dresses,  Easter baskets on one side and the risen Christ which should get the most attention.   Candles to light for all our good intentions;  hopefully we will fulfill them all.
Who can say that weeds do not have a beauty all their own.    Soon we will be looking forward to revamping the gardens;  old flowers will surface and new ones will be planted.  The necessary beauty of life...plants and flowers....
The linticular clouds of Nevada.   I came across this picture this morning and although I have posted it before, I thought it was worth another look.   The space ships of heaven.
The lovely ranch lands of Nevada.  The Sierras in all their glory and they show through the haze of early morning.

A brand new week and March will soon be over .  Are you ready for April showers?   I am looking forward to warmer days, sunshine, walks out, drives out as we celebrate the coming of a new season.   Easter colored eggs, patent leather shoes, organdy dresses...wonder if they are still in style.  I will have to take a walk around the department stores and see what the current styles are like.  This living in an adult community leaves much to the imagination.   It was much more fun to be an active member of 'life' and find the ways and means to celebrate this special time of our life.  It is time for a walk down memory lane, get out the photo album and laugh out loud at the facial expressions on those that were all decked out for the Easter Parade.   Flowers and hats come to mind.  We have a couple of weeks yet, so take your time and look around to decide how you want to celebrate Easter.  Know you can share you and some good deeds along the way.

Holidays are not a chore!!!  They are a time to celebrate our special times.   A time to plot and plan and get into that mood of sharing and caring.    Our lives would be drab without holidays.   Celebrations are the sparkles in life.    So put on your thinking cap and get busy making the special treats for those you like and love.    A card can be the gateway to a smile.   A hug ...well now you know what a hug can do.    Just be thoughtful and caring.  Share YOU with those you like and love.  I'd like to be included, a hug does wonders for my morale, and verbal ones are second best.  Go, be the harbinger of Spring.  Be an Easter bunny....be YOU!!  Hugs to all.

New Thoughts

Old pictures.....new thoughts......sunrise or sunset, always beautiful, peaceful ; a quiet time of day.
A bird?  A heart?   A picture sky always fun to see.
I miss lighting candles , haven't done it for awhile...a good thing to do today....will have to see if there is a candle stand in the church here.   I have shown this picture so many times you would think the candles would be burned out by now.
It is very early, dark outside in the parking lot, looks like there was a bit of rain in the night.   Still so dark I cannot even see the cars parked out there.   I have my coffee brewing and until I get my first sip you will be champing at the bit for my first words of the day.......good morning......don't go anywhere....I am off to fill my coffee cup...smile!!

Ah!!  Hot and black and oh so good...a wake up....taste good, nice and hot and I'd share a cup if you were here.   I didn't go anywhere yesterday, a quiet day, daughter Christine came to visit and stayed awhile.  We had a fun conversation about politics and agreed to disagree.    This daughter of mine is so smart, so knowledgeable, so bright and beautiful;   I am sure she takes after me....ha,ha,ha,....I'd like to have her smarts....must be a combination...yeah, I am laughing, but then have to give credit where credit is due as her father was a very smart man.   Let me brag a little about one of the very special five blessings of my life.

I am off to get dressed, wake up, put my shoes on and go out the door.   Pat and I are having breakfast out this morning.  Have no idea where we will go but you can be sure we will find a place that serves those delicious pan cakes, or maybe a waffle today, or I'd say an omelet would be pretty tasty...yep, I'm hungry, wake up hungry, so am almost ready to go out the door.....I'll be back....tomorrow...maybe I'll tell you what was on the menu and you will go out your door for a treat....if so, enjoy, eat hardy and be filled with good energy so you can be the best you can be.

Be YOU, be good, be kind, be gentle.....go with a smile....be the light at the end of the tunnel today.  Be sure you have hugs for everyone;  you know so many are in need of a hug...a kind word, a smile...you have them all so share...share YOU with those you like and love.    Hugs to all.

Little Things!!

Wish I could hear their conversation, maybe I'd learn something new and different.   Today is dusting day so they will get a swipe or two.   Maybe I'll learn something if I am gentle and they impart a wise word or two.  I can always share it with you.
Maybe because it is over seventy years later;  a good reason for brain freeze.   Stop, think, its all there just waiting to spill out.
It is Saturday, a good day to find things to do, places to go, grocery shopping and have a little rest and relaxation over this weekend.   Weather is iffy, can't make up its mind to be wet or dry.   A new puzzle on the dining room table, drop  in company helping to find a piece or two, a little chatter and a lot of fun.  Now for a repeat today and I will have nothing to complain about.   Well, if I tried I could probably find something but that would be borrowing troubles, so to speak, and no one in their right mind likes or wants to borrow trouble.   I'll look for silver linings and a working computer as this is acting strange this morning.  the letters are jumping around like they know something I do not.  Oh to be computer savey. I have gotten thrown out a couple of times so I had better quit for today and hope the storm passes and the electricity lines behave.    I am sorry as I was hoping for a longer visit with you this morning.   Maybe tomorrow we can make some headway.

Be good, be kind, be gentle and be a friend today...a good one....a loving one... share you with those you like and love.   Hugs to all.

No New News!

This is a picture of a bouquet  I once had and I have a small one in my vase this morning of yellow flowers that are similar.  Pat had a few in her garden and brought me some.  Amazing how flowers brighten a room, and they do a lot for making a room come alive.
Well I am not at my best early in the mornong!!
I improve as the day goes on.

Right this minute the fire alarm is going off and it is annoying.  I don't see any smoke any where ; not in here;  not in the hallway. . . some one burned their toast this morning.

It is early, it is dark, it is wet on the outside pavement, must have rained last night.   We had such a beautiful day yesterday, I was hoping for another one today.    When Spring decides to come in like a lamb it can be beautiful so lets hope it shows up with warmth and sunshine.    Some of the jonquils are up and showing off in Pat's yard.   I spent the day with her yesterday, a fun day, we went junking.  I don't know if you like to junk but it is fun to go searching for treasures.   I found a black cat dish for daughter Christine and will put some Easter candy in it.  She is a cat lover, has two black cats that love to be loved.   I go over to watch television with Christine now and then and both cats climb up on the couch and hunker down as I pet them and they purr like little buzz saws and demand more and more.  Cats are demanding.  Cats are characters and fun.   We found our way back to Pat's house and got busy with a 'job' for Christine.   She is bent on putting the old photographs in some semblance of order and it is not an easy job to do.   We don't know the folks in the pictures , or the dates the pictures were taken.   There was  a lapse in the care  of the picture history of the log cabin as not everyone wants to be a historian.   There are quite a few pictures from the seventies.   A few earlier but not as many as I would like to see.   Port Orchard has a lot of history and we hope to bring the pictures and story up to date.   I hope there are folks out there that care enough to want to keep up the history of the town they live in.

It is time for a refill and get ready for a new day.    This is usually laundry day for me but got it done yesterday over at Pat's house as we got some more of the history pictures in order.   We did get to watch some television as well, had a delicious snack and put our feet up for awhile.    There is nothing better than spending a day with a daughter.   It is even more fun to spend it with two of them.    Now if  my boys were closer...um.....I'd like to share time with them too....oh well, beggars cannot be choosers isn't that what the old adage says.If you have not spent some time with your children, grown or not, then get busy and make the time, make it happen, life is to short to be out of touch.   Pick up the phone,  drop a note, take time to go visit, choose to have special time with the family whenever you can and you are not allowed to stay angry with anyone for any length of time; it is bad for your heart.    So be good, be kind, be gentle and spend your seconds wisely.   Be a lover, a giver, a 'good' person today and every day.  Hugs to all.

AAH!!! Cuties!

Awesome!!  So beautiful and different.  Birds are a wonderful and special addition to our lives.

And then there are kittens. . . life would be so lonesome without them.  Makes me think of the little rhyme..."three little kittens lost their mittens and they began to cry".....go ahead, you know the rest...say it to yourself and smile.

well you have to admit it is a kitten....wow...what a guy!!!  Did you say you wanted your back scratched?  He is just the guy to do it.

And we complain about the size of our ears.....just think if we had these...um......."I heard that!"

A new mid week day, hopefully  bright and clear, haven't turned on the television yet to find out what the day has in store for us weather wise.    Sunshine would be good but a little rain never hurts us.   Weather is weather, like it or not.   I did a little junking yesterday.  We have a great St. Vincent store here in Port Orchard filled with all kinds of cast offs.  Throw away items that still have a lot of good life to them and some are small treasures that please the eye.   I actually have no need for anything at the moment but I always manage to find one more little thing to add to my'collection'...you know the little things that you have to dust, have to take care of, have to stop and smile because they are worth that second look...useless, nah....just a little added jog to the memory of days gone by.  Sheryl Birch is a favorite of mine and I never leave any of her work behind.  I now have a lovely pitcher on the counter top, filled with nothing....maybe I'll add a flower or two, maybe not....it is just lovely to look at empty and all.  Maybe this summer I'll have a lemonade party and put it to good use or fill it with some lovely garden flowers.

I spent some time in the book area checking out titles but didn't find anything I thought worth bringing home to add to my bulging book shelves.   When the weather turns warmer and I put the rocking chair out on the little porch, I will have a special place to make good use of those books I have been adding to my bookcase.   Clive Cussler and I will be bosom buddies before summer is over as I found three of his works I had not known of before.   Speaking of reading, Vinnie has not wanted to be read to lately.   We did have a short session about a week ago, but he hasn't come back.  I think he is taking advantage of a friend and riding out, something he loves to do.   I finished one of the books so I'll tell him the ending...smile!!!

I am off for a refill and open the blinds.   I will turn on the television and find out what is on going in our world ;  hopefully something wonderful for a change or is that wishful thinking?  Wouldn't it be nice if our reporters came up with at least one bright and cheerful news cast;  there must be something good happening somewhere.   We could use a little more of Mother Teresa and her good deeds.    We could emulate her and be her for a day and do some good...maybe we should try it ....one good deed a day, that shouldn't be hard to do.   Check around and see if you can be an 'angel' today, what a feather in your cap;  try it, you may find you like it enough to do one good deed a day.  Start looking around and be 'useful', that's a good thing to be.   So go...be useful...and smile while your at it.    Hugs to all.

'Nothing New!!

Practice, practice, practice until you get it right!!
The beauty of "Joseph's" Coat!!
And the red, red, robing keeps bob bob bobbing along..along...singing its own sweet song!!

A new day...blinds are not open so I have no idea what is going on outside my window;  not in a hurry to open the blinds and see the dark parking lot.   A new day, it is way to early for anyone to be up, out and about...but soon a new busy day will start and we will all take part whether we want to or not.    Some mornings we just like to hunker down in bed and roll over for a few more minutes of rest, snoozing time at its best, up...who wants to get up...but, the proverbial but...it is time to get a move on and start a new day.  Wonder what is in store for us.   What kind of mischief can we get into?   What will we do with all those seconds that need to be put to good use.   Some will have a planned day;   some will have a 'look forward' day and some will take one second as it comes and do their best with it.   As for me, no plans for today, I'll leave the door open and see what develops.  Yesterday was a drop in day and it was fun.   Ron came by with the cross word puzzle from the morning paper;  Vinnie came with a cup of grapes looking for change for his twenty dollar bill...which no one had. . . they took of together to exchange some reading materials.   I had taken the finished puzzle down so had a clear table with a table cloth on it.   Haven't seen the table so dressed up in weeks.   It turned out to be a mellow day, a reading day, a tv day, and it was welcome.

I am hoping for some feed back from YOU.   I am interested in what you are doing.  I want to know how you spend your days.   It is no fun to have only a one way conversation, so get busy and send me a word or two.    I am waiting for the weather to change and hope to get out and about with a camera and get some new pictures, see some places and faces to  write about.   The season is changing and Spring will make a welcome change with a bit of sunshine and a call to the outdoors.

I am off for a refill of my coffee...aah, hot coffee...wish I had a big fat jelly doughnut to go with it, then a second after it is gone be sorry I ate it ..smile....well, it always taste good going down, it is that little bulge of fat left behind that is so bothersome.   BUT...aah, how good it taste while eating it...never satisfied...

Today be YOU, be good, be kind, be gentle and do several good deeds.   Build a reputation of being one of the 'good guys' and see what you can accomplish without trying too hard...you do it all so well....show off a bit and get some real good deeds done.   Be a friend.   Be a cool hand on a hot brow.  Be someone that makes a huge grin greet you when you walk in the door...never empty handed...always with the look of love in your eyes....GO!!!  BE YOU!!!!  Hugs to all.

More Words!

An old barn;  an old tree; and an old stone wall. . . what's not to like?   A memory builder for some who grew up in a rural area far away from the busy city streets.   A comfort picture which should bring a loving memory or two to the 'old farm folks';   a picture says a thousand words!
Hands speak for themselves as they tell a tale of living, loving and hard work.   Take a good look at your hands today and spend a few minutes tracing a bit of your history by the lines in your hands.  The beauty of the hands, the lines sketched deep and true showing that you did live..a lot..and the lines tell a life story.
and I have three new books to add to my bookcase and read when I find some time.   You cannot see books for sale and walk bye;  you stop;  you look and of course you walk home with a few new books for future reading.  The secret is to learn how to find the reading time....maybe put aside an hour ...or two...a day and hide out in a good tale....it helps to make a plan and disappear and hide in your new book...don't answer the phone....don't answer the door....ssh....quiet....don't turn on your hearing aids as it is okay to read as it stretches the brain, the base of your laughter or even a tear or two, all that makes time disappear into a wonderland of life tales.  Authors, aren't they wonderful!!

So today is a good day to take time out for yourself.   Make a plan.  Get your chores done early;   make the phone calls you want and need to make;   pack a little lunch in the fridge so when it is time to eat you can just grab it and continue to read.    Give yourself a gift today.

Be good, be kind, be gentle and be useful.   Be someone who loves to share.   Share YOU with those you like and love and don't forget how good a hug feels.  Hugs to all.

The color of Spring . . . We had some flowers like these on our 'party' table today.

Well , I do try, not always successful though!!
Love the colors of Spring;  this picture reminds me of a special place In Carson City, Nevada where I used to love to go for a picnic and try and make friends with the wild horses.
Blossoms.....Spring.....Aah!!!!
Hello.  I am late today, it is after dinner time and I am finally getting to the computer.  I've been out and about today.   Lois, a lovely lady who lives here at Ridgemont and likes to share time with me, got all dressed up and joined me for a trip over to the Gallery where we attended a luncheon that was well attended;  great food;  hot coffee...aah!!! and a desert....no calories....okay, I'll tell one....of course there were calories that is what makes the taste...but it is too late in the game to worry about counting calories.   Having an appetite is what is really important, you know the making of strong muscles and the building of brain cells.  Food is fuel;  fuel is what keeps us moving and doing;  and lunch out is the 'frosting on the cake'.   We had a great time, lovely folks to visit with and a book sale to end the affair.  Yes, I did...I bought three and put a dozen back...smile.....I just don't have room in the bookcase and if I am to be honest I don't have reading time set aside right now.  Summer is coming though so you know I will be all set..beach chair....fly swatter.....tall glasses of ice tea....although I still like my coffee hot and black...I will be ready;  maybe you can find time to join me.  Think about it.

I am heading for the kitchen, a glass to fill with some red wine, a little cheese and crackers and the news is coming on . . . it is THAT time of day....join me...I'll be back to morrow, not an idle threat...I'll be back..smile.

Sweet dreams when you get there.    Don't forget to say a prayer for me..I can always use one.   Sleep tight.   Be thankful for the day you had and promise to enjoy your tomorrow.   Be good, be kind, be gentle and share YOU with those you love and like.   A little hug doesn't hurt a bit...try one or two...even three if you dare.   Hugs to all.

A Drive Out.

The View From The Restaurant Window!!
Pat has a 'new' car..not quite..we tested out yesterday.
The roads were clear and traffic light, good day to be out and about.

Good Morning.   Have a cup of hot coffee at my elbow, waiting to test it but it is hot right now.  I like my coffee hot, but not when it is so hot you can't sip it.   Never satisfied!!

A new week starting, hopefully some warmer and sunnier weather.   We had a week of rain, cold, and the residue of winter;  Spring wants to spring so hopefully today will be a beautiful Spring day for all of us to enjoy.

Christine and Patricia found their way to a car dealership and traded Pat's car in for a Mercury sedan with room to fit all of us when we go out and about. The ladies picked me up and we rode over to a favorite restaurant for and Italian dinner which was excellent.  As a non driver, I cannot tell you the details of the car, not even sure how old it is but it is in good condition and rides smoothly. . . that is about all I know about cars and driving.   I make a great passenger.  We had a nice long test drive and all is working well.   Smooth ride.  Erin and Donaleo now have Pat's old car for transportation.   It makes it so much easier to have to get to a far away area for work and it saves time, money and energy in the long run.   All seem happy with their choices...as for me...I just get in the back seat and let them take me with them..smile.

I had company earlier in the day, Ron stopped in, a nice treat as he has not been in for awhile.   He actually looked for a puzzle piece but admits to no patience;  the puzzle did get finished and a new one is already on the board waiting to be organized.   A thousand pieces;   hope they are all there. This one we just finished had a piece missing although there was a spare piece left that did not belong.   Some one thought to put a piece in the box but where it goes is a puzzle in itself.  It is boxed and a new puzzle is now on the table waiting to be organized.   It looks like it is going to be a tough one, but that is what makes them fun to do.

The girls are taking me out to a casino today to try my luck.  They will go off and visit the little town and check out the yarn shop.  Not sure what Christine is working on right now but you can be sure she is knitting something.  She really is a whiz and does some really beautiful work.   I think about taking it up again but any excuse will do not to start.  smile.

So, a new day, new things to find to do, old folks to love and neighbors to visit....a good day, all day, so go and enjoy yourself.   Don't forget to be generous.....don't go with your hands 'hanging';  take some tasty treat along with you and share....share it and YOU....have some laughs and try for a couple of good deeds along the way for they make you bright and beautiful.    Make today special, just like YOU....'smile and the world smiles with you;   weep and you weep alone....and that is no fun at all....be happy, be glad, be bright, be cheerful, be YOU.   Hugs to all.

Tales!

Tulips, a sure sign of Spring, tiny bulbs pushing through the last of the winter weather, tiny buds  and a bit of beauty arrives to let us know the season is changing.  Are you ready for changes, new life, warmer weather, more sunshine.....even longer walks around the block.   I am.
If I had a penny for everyone I tried to find, I'd be rich...illusive little devils.
Christine's Fairy Garden.

I opened the blinds, night light still on in the building across from me, puddles on the roadway and several cars parked already.  Folks are in and already working in the hospital wing.   It is only around five a.m. so there is little or no activity.  I just happen to be an early riser.   I wonder why I wake up so early, but I do, and that means 'up' whether I think it is good for me or not.   I have had one cup of hot black coffee, ready for a refill and I think I'll love you and leave you for a minute and go and refill my cup.   Well, I might wake up and you will be able to make some sense out of all my babbling.

I hope your Saint Patrick Day was filled with love and laughter.  I hope you got your fill of corn beef and cabbage with carrots, onions, and turnips.    Pat put on a spread and even made Irish Soda bread, if you don't have the recipe, ask her, she will share it.  Delicious.  Even poor Emma didn't get a crumb and she didn't move far away from the table.   She lives in high hope that someone will drop a crumb or two, but not likely .   Poor Emma....dog food....she misses nothing and keeps hoping for crumbs to fall;  huge chunks would be to her liking but she has to be satisfied with her own food as she is one of those allergy dogs.   Speaking of Emma, she is such a loving dog.  She loves to be loved, um. . . a bit like the rest of us...smile.

Our rain has not let up, it does clear a little between showers but not enough to plan an outing.   A wet Spring;  we have had them before and will again I'm sure.   A bit of warm sunshine would lift the spirits and a walk around the block would be great exercise for the legs.    Its coming, just have to be patient.   So check your weather for the day and make your plans accordingly.    Be sure you get out and about and get some of your shopping done.  You probably have left overs and are not worried about shopping, but if you decide to get up and get out, make your day a bright and beautiful one. Share you with those you like and love.   Don't forget at least one good deed;  be generous.   Be a Spring blossom and push your way into someone you like and love's heart today. . . make a few smiles dry up a few tears that may be hanging around.    Enjoy today because you can.  Hugs to all.

Green!

Happy St. Patrick Day!!
May the wee folks leave you a pot of gold!
May you have a rainbow day!

It is St, Patrick Day, the wearing of the green!!  I hope you planned to wear green today or you can  or will feel a pinch!

I have to go and find something green to wear....corn beef and cabbage dinner to look forward to...yum....hope you are planning to have some.    It seems daughter Patricia was looking up a recipe for Irish soda bread..yum.   It is a good day to be Irish whether you are or not.    The happy heart, the dancing feet and tasty treats, even a parade ....so plan to enjoy today and be Irish!

Yesterday was an 'in' day so there is little to tell you about this morning.    The big puzzle on the table is coming along slowly but beginning to look like 'we' might get it done.  Patricia is so good with puzzles and such good company.  What would I do without her...hope I never find out.   Christine went corn beef shopping for our St. Pat's Dinner tonight.   Pat said it would feed an army.  We like left overs.    So it is going to be a fun dinner when we all get together and maybe they will enjoy a green beer, as for me, I don't even like beer but I am sure I will find something to toast St. Patrick!

So today, be Irish, enjoy the company of the 'wee' folks and dance a bit of a jig if you dare.   Smiling is the most important 'thing' you can do on St. Pat's Day....it is a must, it is required if you want to celebrate the day the right way.    Tune in, tune up, and make your day bright and beautiful, enjoy a boiled dinner and don't forget the Irish soda bread.   If you have room for desert buy some of that pistachio ice cream.   Enjoy the day!!!

Be good, be kind, be gentle . . . be YOU!!  Have fun today;  giggle if you dare;   be sure to SHARE, that is a requirement today.    Best of all have fun and laugh out loud it is so good for you.    Know you are loved a lot.....it is so easy to do....and I hope Saint Patrick sends you a bouquet of shamrocks.   Hugs to all.

Early and Dark

We need the rain to stop and let some sunshine in so the tulips can come out and welcome Spring.
Christine has a little Fairy Garden waiting patiently to entertain you when the sun comes out.
The harbinger of Spring....Beautiful isn't it?   A bird of bright feathers with a song in its heart;  a very lovely way to greet Sp;ring.

Now, if the rain would stop and let some sunshine into our world we would all have a reason to smile.   It has been wet...not too cold but cold enough, and a bit on the dreary side.   It is time for Spring to spring...I am more than ready.    With the beginning of wet cold days to welcome spring, the hands are beginning to show signs of arthritis;  painful knuckles I could do without.   Holding the coffee cup helps..ah, heat.

Yesterday was a good day and I spent it with Patricia and Erin .  We picked up a few groceries, bought a tasty snack and watched a movie on Net-flick, a murder mystery with a surprise ending.  It is the best way to spend a rainy afternoon, especially when you don't feel up to a lot of work.   We could have, probably should have, done something more constructive but that would not have been as much fun and we do know a little bit of fun never hurt anyone.    So because I flitted away a few hours, I can make it up today if a 'job' comes up.   Um..wonder if Christine has anything on going for us to do.    She usually comes up with something.  I think filing comes to mind, there is always something that needs filing.   Believe it or not I do like to file...neat is good.

I did take the girls out to lunch and they introduced me to a very old place I did not even know was here in Port Orchard.  It is an old bar with a huge room and glass windows from floor to ceiling overlooking the bay.   A few small boats moored by a wooden pier, and a gorgeous sky with picture clouds, and really good coffee as well as tasty clam chowder.  A bit pricey, but then you get what you pay for;  isn't that the golden rule...smile.

A new day, another rainy one, think I'll catch up with the Ridgemont folks and see if anything new and different happened around here yesterday.  It certainly was quiet when I got in.    If anything exciting happens I'll fill you in....smile.     Meanwhile, I am off to watch some news.   I hope your new day is a really good one and you find reasons to laugh out loud.    Be good, be kind, be joyful whether or not the weather suits your fancy.    Share YOU with those you love and like.   Do at least one good deed today.....two is better.    Live, laugh and be happy.  Hugs to all.

A New Day!!

The lovely bramble bushes to remind us that weeds are really beautiful.
and I am...every day, wishing you well, wishing you were here or I was there, just wishful thinking when you miss someone special.
Today is a good day to stop in at your church and light a candle for the souls that have gone before us, or for those who are ill and suffering, or just because you can.

Coffee!!!  Hot and tasty...a wake up drink....how can anything that looks so dark and muddy taste so good....it does....and it wakes me up every morning.   I hope you are enjoying your drink of choice.    I opened the blinds to see that it is raining. . . um . . . what to plan for today. . . have to give that some thought.    There are file drawers to clean up, but that doesn't sound like fun,  it does need to be done  though, and a rainy day is always a good day to catch up with those chores you put off.   So today you get a break;  I am off to watch some news and see what has happened since I took time out for a snooze.    Say your morning prayers and ask for patience and tolerance.   Plan some fun today and meet and greet a friend you love to share time with.    If it is  bad weather wise, take a ride out and have lunch at your favorite stop. . . what is that sandwich with the corn beef and greenery.....oh the mind is going...or has already gone.    Age....it happens to the best of us, and I seem to be on the fast track.    Don't worry though, I wont go anywhere without you...smile.

Go....make today special, just like you.     Be good, be kind, be gentle . . . think big and do a good deed or two....what is that saying...'the more the merrier'....so be merry and bright and share YOU with those you love and like.   Now that should include everyone!  Go....be YOU.  Hugs to all.

New Day!!!

I do.   I have a large coffee can to hold the plastic bags and it works very well.
An oddity;  unusual and I wonder if it opens up and what it is called;  strange, probably part of a fern family;  just different, odd, and has a beauty all its own..
Music . . . what would we do without it?  I'd hate to find out.   The beat goes on!   If you are feeling down and out...lift up your head and S I N G!!!!
A new day, wonder what is in store for us.  Some folks are having a lot of weather...cold, wet, blustery and wishing for a change....it is coming.....Spring...ah!!

Yesterday was an 'in' day, the weather was cold and uninviting for outside activities.   I walked the hallways for exercise and stopped up at the lunch room where some folks were playing the Mexican Train Game...I think I played that some time ago.  I was invited to play but chose to watch awhile.

I just opened the blinds and it is pouring buckets out there.   A rainy day!!!  Um.....wonder what is in store for the day . . . I think I'll clean out a few file folders, paper has a way of growing when you are not looking.    So, I am off to have a refill on my coffee;   check to see if there is anything 'good' in this place...smile.....sound familiar?    Well a doughnut would be tasty but there isn't any;  maybe some toast with peanut butter will do.   You could join me..just open your cupboard, get out a cup for your tea or coffee and hopefully find something 'good' to go with it...sit for awhile and I will to and we will have breakfast together...smile.

Have a great day, rain or shine, do something good for you.    Be a friend.   Be a lover.   Be someone who makes the world a better place.   Count your blessings and say a prayer or two in thanksgiving for all you do have;  you can add an extra one for me as I can always use one.   Go.....have a G R E A T day!!!!  Hugs to all.

Good Morning!!!!

I am about to take a ride on my broom....thought you might like to come along!!! Good morning.  I've been awake for hours,  why?   Who k...
