Stormy Weather!

The eye of the storm;  a hurricane back East;   a smiling devil waiting to pounce.

Danger comes in all forms.    Sad that politics brings out the worst in man instead of the best.  A chance to lead, a chance to do good, a chance to make America 'shine' but personal vendettas lead the way.

Another hurricane picture back east.    Weather . . . we like it or not . . . Mother Nature seems to enjoy going on a rampage.    Hurricane season is here.

I'll be back, off for a refill, have to have that coffee to wake up . . . four a.m. when all the good folks are snoozing, then there are those of us who are just early risers and find chair napping good later in the morning.   Four a.m. is dark, desolate, and not a creature is stirring;  the parking lot is pitch black and there are no lights on in the rooms across the way;  smart folks are sleeping ...and then....there are those who are morning people..um...someone should tell them morning begins more like six a.m. ...this three and four a.m. is not even for the birds.

Ah, black and hot and good for the taste buds.    What to talk about this morning. . .um. . . have no idea.    Yesterday was an 'in' day for me.   I chose to watch TV movies and enjoyed two of them.   One was Cary Grant in "North by Northwest";  I think that was the title;  with Eva Maria Saint and it was just as good as the first several times I saw it.   The other was on the Bronte Sisters and it was excellent.

Vinnie came to lunch so we had our read and he brought me two brand new magazines he had already read, so I have some new reading material if it proves to be a rainy day.   It seems that the weather has take a 'grey' cast and cannot make up its mind whether to be rainy or clear and cooler.  Fall is here.  The ladies were talking about memory and how much we lose as we age.  It is amazing how the brain starts to deteriorate  around the age of fifty and continues to slow down and lead you up a path you have no idea how to walk.    First you lose a name or two;  then you cannot remember a title of a movie or a book; sometimes even the name of a close friend.   It is scary.   What you need to do is exercise the brain....read, write, talk, listen and participate in a daily routine of making the brain active so it stays sharp.    Just remember if you do not use it you do lose it.

Granddaughter Erin returned with a head cold so she is trying to get rid of it so she can enjoy her last days with us.    We want to take her out and wine and dine her; maybe a trip to the airport and have the Sunday brunch.  Hopefully she will be all cleared up by then.

So a new day is here but no exciting new news.    Here at Ridgemont everyone seems to be content to do  a lot of nothing.    We did sign up for a trip next week to a town where there is a forever Christmas store.   I understand it is a quaint town and a good three hour drive away.

So today, sharpen your brain, do puzzles, read, call a friend and spend some talk time on the telephone.    Write a letter, how long has it been since you actually sat down with pen in hand a wrote....???.....bet awhile.    Of course many of you have I Pads or I phones or some new dealy bob that keeps you in touch with those you like and love and that is good.    Just put them to good use and make someone glad you are part of their circle.    It is always nice and thoughtful to add a new person to your circle;  someone needs a friend;  you really do not have to look very far.    Be good, be kind, be gentle and find a reason or two to share YOU with those you like and love.    If you are not there to give them a physical hug then give them  a verbal hug, it does pretty much the same lift of spirit and we can all use a lift to our spirits.     Go....be YOU ....bring a little sunshine with you wherever you go today.     Hugs to all.
