School days, school days, good old golden rule days and this was one of them...cover the books, take care of your books....and we did.
Here it is Sunday morning and it is only a little after four a.m.; what woke me up? who knows? It is just that time when the body clock says wake up and get up but not a good idea this morning as I have been invited out for breakfast and that is hours from now. So two breakfasts today....coffee and
piece of toast, better not or I wont have an appetite for that omelet I have in mind. Daughter Patricia is home from her holiday so I am anxious to see her and hear all about her one day trip back from Oregon and her adventures of last week. We three ladies are going out this morning but I have no idea where. Surprises are good and we do have some good restaurants here in Port Orchard. I am being treated as a thank you for painting more rocks yesterday at the Gallery. Christine was on duty as the volunteer didn't show, and I went along to keep her company. I watched one of the two artists hanging his pictures for the event which is being called "The Two Old Geezers" and they are, both excellent painters and seniors. One loves pastels and his work comes alive in softness of light. I understand this is to be his last show as his health is not as it should be and he will be retiring from his role as an artist. The other is a master of sea waves thundering to the shores. He also has a tremendous sense of humor and does a fantastic job of painting animals. I have his painting of the three little kittens watching a frog which is a delight and makes me laugh out loud. Both artists will have rave reviews before the week is out, and hopefully a few of their paintings will find a new wall to hang on. As for my rock painting, yes, I did some beetles but the creative instincts take over and I see things in rocks that have to be brought out . There are hidden pictures in rocks that tell a story all their own. I traced a couple of lines here and there and found and found a myriad of little tiny animals to delight the eye. Well, variety is the spice of life...right??? I think so.So today, Sunday all day, a day of rest and a chance to catch up with yourself. If you are up and it is very early, think about having breakfast out for a change. Go and order up your favorite breakfast food, or, better still, call a neighbor or two in and you cook up a decent breakfast and have a party to start your day with laughter and a few hugs. Such a combination can only do you a lot of good; make you healthy, wealthy and wise in the way of your world. Be good, be kind, be gentle . . . be YOU. . . take time to make your seconds count as tiny landmarks of a lovely Sunday you will remember for a long time to come. Put a smile in your voice and call someone you love and tell them so. Words, the in road to a happy heart. Hugs to all..
