Lone Ranch Beach in Brookings, Oregon , where daughter Patricia strolled and enjoyed on her mini vacation last week. She enjoyed her stroll on the beaches and visited some of her old favorites. This picture of Lone Ranch Beach is one I took some time back and one of my favorite spots. I miss my treks along the pathways , rounding the corner to find the driftwood piled high and the beautiful rocks protecting the harbor. I will have to check with Patricia and find out if she took some new pictures of the area which I will post later on. I think this picture should be an oil painting. It would look terrific on my art wall. If I had my paints I would be tempted to try it, but it would be much better if I could sit there by the beach and paint it while I was enjoying the sights and sounds of the beautiful beach. I know, driftwood, but it has a beauty all its own. Yes, I miss Brookings and some very loving folks who reside there. Sigh!!!
A new Monday, the start of a week with surprises I hope. I know I'll be painting more rocks and they will be finished this week, all one hundred and fifty of them. Pat brought some beach rocks back but I don't think they are going to be used for this particular project. The idea of the painted rocks are to gift the town folks who are going to participate in Ladies Night Out which is a special event here in Port Orchard. The merchants stay open a bit longer which gives the workers coming home on the ferry a chance to do a bit of shopping. The town folks appreciate Ladies Night Out and have a chance to pick up a gift or two for an upcoming celebration and enjoy finding a free gift at each store. This time they will be able to decorate their garden with colorful rocks painted by the Gallery bunch...and they did a tremendous job. Hopefully I'll have a picture to post for you before the week is out.
Christine and I went out to breakfast yesterday and I had some biscuits and gravy which were delicious. We picked up a latte and went over to visit with Pat and get a hug. She is tired after her trip home but happy to be home. I think Emma was glad to see us as well. We tried not to be jealous as we listened to her tell about her visits and returning to the beach walks and having delicious chowder and fish and chips. If there is a next time, I want to be invited and catch up with some friends and have a walk on the beach picking up some of those lovely beach rocks. Dream on, one never knows what is coming up.
So today dream about some place you would like to be and the someone you would like to be with. I think it is a good idea to start your plan for a mini vacation and visit 'home' where your heart is. Think of the hugs, the smiles, the welcome you will get when you walk in the door. Think of the sharing and caring...wow...what's holding you up...get going and pack your bag . Do not forget your smile, a light touch and a bear hug or two. . . ah, life is good. Hugs to all.
