the truth will out....some lead others follow!
Ah, coffee time, bagel and crème cheese and it is the end of another week of April, the half way mark and Spring is blooming all around. Every now and then I add a bit about politics just in case you are not paying attention. The constant beat of the drum for a new leader is on and it gets very tiresome to watch on television and hear the drone of sameness of empty promises. Politics is a shabby and dirty game , so much goes on behind the scenes we know little or nothing about. We are like lambs being led to the slaughter . My day was quiet yesterday as I regrouped after that long ride to the tulip fields. I did go out for groceries and replenished the necessary items that were depleted. I didn't buy much but what I did buy cost plenty; how come prices keep going up in the food line; maybe its the bigger boxes with less in them and we pay a little more for the empty space. Wow, what negative thoughts this morning...politics and food prices.....let's change the subjects. Vinnie and I had a short read yesterday. He came down with a new magazine he has subscribed to and loaned it to me to read a couple of stories that he found interesting. He does read but not much, hopefully; his next bout with the eye doctor will improve his sight more. Not sure if it is lazy eye or cataracts , but he has a few more procedures to go through and hopefully he will be able to read more and longer. I wonder if he lost his glasses already; he sure doesn't put them on to read. The dinner talk was all about the tulip trip. Those that decided not to go because someone said it might rain were curious as to what the trip was like and after a few told of the highway travel for hours, the cost to go into the area to see a field of tulips and the crowds; they were happy they didn't go. Those of us who did go were not sorry as it gave us an outing for the day; It is a chance to see something new and different and get out and about away from the apartment. Some of the folks just have no where to go so appreciate their time away. Karen, our manager here at Ridgemont, has started a monthly newsletter. She has hopes that we will all contribute to it. One of our ladies, Rosie, has her new book out, her second and she is going to tell us about it at a special meeting next week. I am sure there are a lot of talented folks here at Ridgemont. I have seen some of the hand work of some that is really special. They are not able to do the intricate art work anymore but they had patience and talent that shows some beautiful finished pieces that would win a prize. So today, look around and see what pieces you need to finish, you know the ones you have been going to finish forever....now is the time....be busy, be clever, be one who finishes what they start. No laggards are we. What?? Speak for yourself ! I heard that.. Pick up the pieces. . . and finish what you start. Be good, be kind, be gentle and go about thinking of others today. Some one you love needs YOU today.....be generous and share those hugs; don't let them go to waste. Hugs to all. |
