A squash duck; what a cutie.
The vegetable world can be fun, cute and clever and good eating, and a work of art as well.
Thursday, a late in the day rain storm, of course, our plans were for ribs at the Lighthouse, a thank you treat to the girls for being so good to me. Pat begged off though as she had to take Emma to the vet and it was a long session. Emma has a tendency to have ear infections and allergies which is not fun and costly and time consuming. Poor Emma. she is well taken care of and well loved. Christine ordered her usual burger and salad and my ribs were perfect, lean and tasty. A glass of Merlot, good company, the way to spend a lovely outing. Today is my appointment with the doctor. I met him when I first got here but haven't had to contact him again. I made this appointment to find out if he has a cure for allergies as the buds are budding and so am I. Besides I have forgotten what he looks like and I bet he doesn't remember me, so I thought I had better touch base ...just in case...smile. Once a year is more than enough to keep up an acquaintance. A new puzzle on the table, a forest scene with animals and lovely colors. It should be a fun one to put together although the frame doesn't want to come together. It will. Just takes patience. I am ignoring it for the moment and finding like pieces and getting a start. You can drop in and help. It is okay with me. Here at Ridgemont Vinnie was a no show for our reading time but he stopped by later to tell me he had been off to an appointment with his VA councilor as he had to take care of creating a plan for his demise. If he wants to be buried in a Veteran's cemetery it takes a lot of paper work and a type of insurance plan to pay for it. I didn't think the Veterans plans cost the veterans anything. It sounded to me like a regular insurance type plan and costly. I hope he isn't being led up a garden path. I bought into one of those cremation plans some thirty years ago. I was told that the interest would accumulate year by year and keep up with the changing costs as the years went by. No worries....right...until you check it out and find that in thirty years it has grown by twenty five dollars....not enough to cover the cost of todays prices. I would have been better off buying the old War bonds. So the old saying of live and learn comes to mind Take time out to check what kind of a plan you have made for yourself. A motto of live and learn seems to come to mind...next time around I'll be a lot smarter....or refuse to come in....smile. So today, check your files. Make sure you have all your ducks in order then get on with your life with no worries. Take the time to make sure your files are in order. You may have to update a paper or two. It is better to be safe than sorry. Be good, be kind, be gentle and treat a family member or a good friend to lunch today. Check out your favorite restaurant and introduce them to a special dish that pleases your fancy. Enjoy the sights, the sounds and the company; a great way to spend some of your seconds. You will get in your hugs for the day and that is a very good thing. So start planning, get going and have some fun today. It's a good day to share YOU with those you love and like. Share!!! It's good for you. Hugs to all. |
