or a ride home at the end of a snowy day. Hopefully to a fire in the fireplace; a cup of hot cocoa, preferably with marsh mellows or a hot toddy might do the unfreezing.
The first week of February almost gone, but not the expectations of a few more snow storms. Some folks are having plenty of it while the rest of us have a few rainy days without the beauty of winter. Snow really is beautiful, that first storm excites us until it gets old hat and we shovel it away. You have to admit the first winter snow always makes you feel good. I chose a quiet day yesterday and put the finished puzzle away and got out a new one. Now comes the hard work of sorting and finding the frame pieces which seem to have a mind of their own. I thought I had all of them but find I am missing a lot more than usual. They can't be missing as it is a new puzzle just opened. I was going to wait awhile before starting a new one but it is like eating popcorn, one kernel is never enough. The weekend is here so decide what you want to do and do it. I plan to be lazy; doesn't that have a nice ring to it? Be lazy with me and do a lot of nothing. Unwind and enjoy some down time for a change. We manage to be busy all the time and forget the mind and the body need a rest time. The world is not going to crash just because you are relaxing; in fact, you might find it a bit more pleasing as your attitude improves . So today, take a day off. Don't dust, vacuum, cook or scrub, walk out the door and walk around the block or go to the nearest park and feed the pigeons. Plan on a movie. Buy the biggest bag of popcorn and enjoy. Remember to take a friend along; makes me think of the old sing-song "two is company, three is a crowd, four is too many and five not allowed." Some things stick in the mind . . . and some things do not...like 'where are my glasses?" Usually right where I left them, most likely on the puzzle when I was hunting down some of the end pieces, or they could be on top of your head where you last placed them, don't panic they are around somewhere. Be good, be kind, be gentle. . . be YOU and enjoy your weekend as you have earned it. Hugs to all. |
