ha,ha, how true.....our tongues are so easy to 'wag' . . . so, if you have anything to say, be sure it is something worthwhile.
The week is flying by. It has been a good one so far and a busy one. I have been wined and dined and went to a special friends home last evening to have a lasagna to really crow about. The host John was the chef, and a master of his art. He pulled out all of the little special dishes and filled them with delights. Special tomatoes, olives, salad, lasagna and the piece of resistance a long log type chocolate cake with great coffee. We all went home with doggie bags. There is no way we could finish our plates. John is just too good a cook and much too generous. The wine before and during dinner set the pace and cleaning ones palate between bites made room for more...more...more....yep, and that crusty bread he sent home with us will be used up with the left overs for dinner tonight. So, a big thank you to Sally and John for sharing their lovely home, John's chef talents, the wonderful conversation making a special evening you hope to repeat again in the near future. I think I heard Pat volunteer for the next dinner. I'll help ! Christine stopped by to check out the computer and found I had to update some 'updates' , about 148 to be exact. . . I didn't see anything about updating. . . oh well, it took all night and then it didn't work so it took most of the early morning hours before I was let back on. AND, here I am. I can only hope that the updates won't change anything, if it does, well...you know how computer literate I am. There are some days I would like to meet up with 'those' behind the scenes who do things to my computer that make me crazy. Next time around, if there is one, I am going to classes and learn how to really use a computer. It really does so many wonderful things I have little or no knowledge of. I don't think it was meant for nonagenarians. Here at Ridgemont it was a busy time as the workers came through and changed out the ceiling fire boxes. They have forty five apartments to work through and we were lucky to be first on the list. Hopefully now a little smoke wont set them off. The sound of that fire alarm is 'alarming' goes on and on and on until you want to go out the door and 'smash' it. It is on the wall outside m my apartment so I get a reverberation and the sound is deafening. I cannot complain as it is a safety measure for all of us, but, I wish it wouldn't go off every time some one person burns a piece of toast. Ron had a birthday yesterday and is now a ripe old eighty-five and hoping to get rid of that cast that has been keeping him sitting for months. Having a bad foot is one thing but all that sitting gets to be a bit painful after while. He tells us he can hardly wait to get behind the wheel of his car and go...out to see the world....many feel that way as they do not like being confined. The new ladies are perfecting the food lines and area getting better at moving along. Standing deciding which lettuce leaf to choose was disturbing the old timers...smile. All in all peace reigns. Evelyn did not get her Miss Kitty watch as they stopped making them; strange when she was suppose to receive it in the mail. A mystery to be resolved. So today, keep an eye on the changes occurring in your lives. There is something new and different every day. Make up your mind that you will be an ambassador today...one of good will...one of mastering the art of hugs and one who will share you with those you love and like. a good deed; a smile'; a bear hug or two; a kiss on the cheek; holding hands; um. . . I'll get in line. I have the welcome sign out...hurry up...I'm getting older by the day. Hugs to all. |
