Natures Horrors.!

Lphanctinus Portheus molossus .. . now that is a mouthful and this guy has just the mouth....it swam in the sea that covered much of the present day Kansas according to the Amazing Geologist.    I didn't know there ever was a sea in Kansas;  just goes to show how little we do know.   It has the look of an ancient.

A safe image by Michael Davies, a time shot of Nelscot Reef where they hold surfing contests and the waves are four stories high.    Not for me, I have trouble getting my ankles wet.

A very unusual but beautiful shot of a young man hurling something in the air.

Now if this was in our skies we would worry.   A Texas tornado.   No caption so I have no idea when it happened but I bet it did a lot of damage.    Nature on a rampage.

Daughter Patricia picked me up and we drove over to Silverdale and  had a cup of coffee while we waited for the stores to open.  The mall is huge, big and beautiful, loaded with first class stores of every kind.   I was on a mission as my slacks are all over twenty years old;  no I am not style conscious, and lucky for me I don't change size often;   depends on deserts and I do try to be careful.    I had not been to a big mall in some time so it was with pure delight that I was going to 'walk the mall' forgetting that at almost ninety-two my body thinks differently.    Three stores later I was more than ready to have lunch and sit down.   We found a lovely stop and ordered real true onion soup to die for...delicious!!  Shared a sandwich and a desert and smarted at paying two dollars for a cup of coffee.    That is ludicrous.   I remember when it was five cents a cup, and you got refills.  Now it is two or three dollars and no refills.   What has happened to our world?

It turned out to be a successful trip as there was a sale on and by getting a new card I saved more so got my slacks at a price I wanted to pay.   the sales girl was a cutie and couldn't  believe the birth date.   I really didn't want to sign up for a card as I wont be shopping a lot;  they will be lucky to see me again.    But another fifteen percent for the day was to good to pass up so I got forty percent off all tolled.    The day was filled with bright sunshine, warmth and unseasonable weather;  what the old timers think of a pneumonia weather.   I marveled at some of the merchandise;  not quality, all imported from China and the materials are thin and lifeless.   Some of the color designs I wouldn't wear to a flea circus.    I cannot imagine where the taste has gone.  The new color for this season are shades of blues;  some criss-cross;  some circles;  some with 'polka dots and moon beams' and ugly. . . to each his own.     I remember quality and lovely combinations of color.   Guess I have gotten old and crotchety.   All I can tell you is that I was ready to do a lot of nothing when I got back to Ridgemont.   I opened the door to my apartment, sat down in my chair and didn't move for hours.   I put my feet up and sighed.     I have a feeling the girls will dress me from now on...smile.

So today, shop....until you drop.   Find some of those sales and refurbish your wardrobe.    Find a place to rest that serves good food and order up a bowl of onion soup with stringy cheese;  you won't be sorry.    Take a friend along and make a 'holiday' out of it.    Smile at the families with little ones who wave back and skip along like they didn't have a worry in the world.    Be kind to the sales ladies who work hard to make your shopping a success.    Be good, be kind, be gentle and enjoy being alive and able to get out and about.    Count your blessings. . . we all have so many . . . take good care of YOU, your health is the most important;   the rest follows with ease.    Be a friend, be a lover, be YOU.  Hugs to all.
