trees

A South Pacific eucalyptus pulpwood tree to make paper.   A Chris Martin photo.  An earthly rainbow.

It is not a tree, but a beauty and has an animal face.   Love the colors, bright and beautiful.

A frozen tree.    'Baby, it's cold outside.

Frosty pines, now that is something beautiful.   Stars that shine on a winter morning.

Wow, Thursday already, my time flies when you are having fun, or not.  "busy is as busy does" is an old adage, so we must have been busy to make this weeks days pass by so quickly.    It has been a good week, a busy one, and that puts a sparkle in our eyes.    This morning I am thinking of hands.   I put my fingers together and made that old rhyme come to life. . 'here's the church, here's the steeple, open the doors and here are the people."  Remember that ?   Take a good look at your hands this morning and follow the lines that tell a bit of your history.    Once upon a time they were tiny and smooth, then you grew and they grew right along with you.  the line became more prevalent and we would look for the little wrinkles on the side of  our hands to see the tiny  lines that told how many children we would have.   We are such romantics.  Well mine lied as I had a few more than my hands predicted.  We made good use of our hands over our lifetime.    They took part in our history of life and the lines show it.    The decade lines, the heart line, the life line all there for a peek and hopefully you can remember each one and know you have made good use of your hands.    They prove to be our actors in life...raised in anger to slap, clapped together in delight;  caressing in love and worn to a frazzle working in the home and the gardens.   Strong, beautiful, loving, some of our better parts.  So today, take a good look at your hands as they tell a lot about your life's history.     Make up your mind to take care of them and use them wisely.     Some one out there could use a helping hand and you have just the hands to do it.

As for me, there are dishes in the sink and hot soapy water make the hands feel good.    Wrinkles but they fade  away.   At this age a wrinkle is nothing to worry about.  The body produces them without any consultation;  you get them whether you want them or not.    Wrinkles tell a story of their own.    Maybe one day I will tell how I got a few deep ones...or not...smile...better leave some things rest.  I will take my wrinkled hands off to the kitchen and make my blueberry pancakes for breakfast.  There is a little batter left from  yesterday.    Coffee is ready and so am I.    Wake up, get up and make your seconds count today.    Don't forget that one good deed, two if you can manage it.    Take your smile for a walk and watch what happens.  Be a beacon of light and SHINE!!    Hugs to all.
