Hot!!

Emma and Erin....Hot August Days slowly going bye, in the cool of the shade of the tree, a breeze, down time, nothing wrong with that ...wake them up when the sun goes down.....smile.......

The last of hot August nights, the new month, September coming up and Fall is in the air.   The leaves on the huge trees across the way are turning slowly a tinge of color, a bit of gold in the leaves, not much, but a promise of Fall.   Really a lovely time of year.   Schools will reopen, the children will be anxious to get back to work...home work....or will they?   I bet not.    I remember one of the Nuns telling us , a very long time ago, that we would one day say, out loud, that we missed going to school....well believe it or not, that day did come and I bet each of us said those words out loud.    "I miss going to school."   We just did not appreciate it at the time.   Live and learn...smile!!  

It was quiet here at Ridgemont yesterday.   It was also a very warm day and staying in was not hard to take at all.   I had the fan going although the girls bought me a small air conditioning unit that work well...but...I chose the open door and the fan and all was well.    I had planned to go for the after lunch walk, but did not...lazy I guess.   I chose to put up a new puzzle on the table and turn the pieces over.   It is going to be a mean one, a challenge, so no complaints...well, maybe a little one now and then.    The heat of the day makes the brain lazy ....my excuse....but cuddling up with a good read is't all bad on a hot summer day.   They will soon be gone and Fall will arrive along with all its beauty.  The little cup of golden leaves attests to that and it is just across in the big tree .  Remember the song..'delightful to look at' , well I have a front row seat as the huge trees begin to show some color.  Now it is time to leave this view and go and get dressed and start a new day.    I think some grocery shopping is in the wind as the larder is becoming bare...where does all those delicious tidbits go???  I have no idea...smile!!
