A bouquet fro you.....May each petal bring love and laughter into you home.
A brand new year hopefully filled with good health, a little joy, a few tears, a lot of laughter and resolutions you will live up to.....be good, be kind, be gentle....as only you can.
A quiet New Year Eve here at Ridgemont. We started off with a celebration of Betty's one hundred birthday and her family outdid themselves. A huge cake, plenty of coffee and soda, loving words from family members and I'd say a good time was had by all. It was a fun way to end the year and we had the opportunity to enjoy all of the pictures and words telling Betty's life story. A woman of many talents and one very sweet lady.
It was very quiet here at Ridgemont. No bells or whistles. Each one found their way to their room, closed the door and quiet prevailed. No visitors, no open doors, no spirit of a New Year celebration. My girls had already had all the celebrating they wanted to do, so I opened up that bottle of Courvoisier, a special cognac with a taste all its own, hunkered down in front of the television and enjoyed a quiet celebration of a brand new year.....um...what is in store of me??? What is in store for us???? I wonder what this new year will bring ; we are about to find out.
So remember that you have a duty, an obligation to yourself to make this new year one of the very best for YOU. It is time you put yourself on top of the list. You have done much for others, this is the year of YOU. Celebrate YOU. Give yourself credit for all of the good deeds you accomplish each year. Give yourself a pat on the back for being a best friend. Give yourself a chance to shine as you have earned that right. YOU have made life worth while for those you love and like. YOU have done one good deed after another to make life a little easier and more bearable for those who have had to carry cross that seemed unbearable until YOU came along to lend a hand. Make this year memorable as you take your role to the top of your list. Be kind, be gentle, be YOU and "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride...." so hopefully your horse will come in this year...smile.....thank you,one and all, for being a friend . . . for being there . . . for caring and sharing and for loving me. Happy New Year. |
