Beginnings...

A Winter Scene. . . Silence . . . Beauty . . . Days end.   Reflections!!

And the roots of this tree found a spot to call its own.   Wouldn't it be special to be able to take a walk along this pathway.

If you are a coin collector here are a few ideas on what to build.   I might get two or even three coins to stand up together but to make a design like these. . no way. . .

A new year, a new week, a new day . . . quiet prevails here in Ridgemont, folks are celebrating the New Year with friends and family.  Some are alone and are happy to see the end of the holiday season.   Some hibernated and will come out again, some went off and will return, and a few of us made a visit to a 'mate' who thought it was a good day to share some time.    I went down to visit with Aggie and her cat.  That cat is fat and beautiful and loving and enjoys being petted. . . and will not take no for an answer.   "Pet me, pet me, ....more, more";  how can you not pet a beautiful cat with big eyes that melt the heart strings.  I enjoyed my visit with Aggie, she's a lovely lady and loves company.  She has a huge painting on her wall that is really special.   I don't know who the painter is but it is a painting you 'walk' into;  high desert, reminds me of Nevada, sunset colors, magnificent horses, sagebrush and the mountains.   We did do a little gossiping, nothing viscous , just a little sting about some one person who delights in making life a bit difficult for all she encounters.    An unhappy soul, and there seems to be one in every crowd.  The Serenity Prayer comes in handy many times.

So we have a new year to deal with.  We have problems to solve.   We have friends to make.  We have some sorrowful persons who do not want friends and make it known.   Some folks are better in their own company and best to leave them to it.   Speaking of friends, Vinnie and I have come to a stopping point in our reading.  He is restless and when he begins to not showing up, with no excuse, then it is time to call a halt.    He says he wants to come and visit, and that is fine, but he is going through some phase that tells me I wont be seeing much of him.  So some things are changing this New Year, it will be interesting to see what develops.   There used to be a program on the radio years ago about "Life begins at 80"  ...um..I should have paid more attention to it so I'd know what to expect.   I got through the eighties, it's the nineties that is the new challenge.   I wonder if our two ladies who have turned one hundred years old have any interesting rules of the road for us.    The road to the Garden Path gets shorter each year, not only for us who have already walked the miles, but for the younger crowd who are beginning to tread it without thought.    We have one day  as it comes, one day to live, love and enjoy...so....make it work in your favor....be good, be kind, be gentle and spread those arms to encompass all you like and love.   Hugs to all.
