Designs

I am not certain when or where this picture was taken, seems to be a doorway, and if so that seems to be different as this type of art is usually done in windows, especially church windows where you could look  up and see the sunlight filter through and the pictures come alive.    This particular one has color and you can imagine how beautiful it is to see the sun beams cast their shadows.  It is Sunday morning and all is quiet.   So, although I am not headed out the door, I can remember years of going off on a Sunday morning to church and bend the knees and lighting a candle or two.    When I was living in Brookings it was easy to stop by the church and light a candle or two.  Sometimes even more for certain folks needing an extra prayer as they plowed through some sad or unexpected event in their lives.    One never knows what the day will bring and a little help comes in handy.  So when you stop off for a visit and light a candle, keep me in mind, I can always use a little help.  There is a special rule to count ones blessings and sometimes we just forget that.    It is so easy to gripe and groan about expectations that are unfulfilled  according to our wants.  We forget our needs are often met and we don't think to light a candle in thanksgiving.   Selfishness can be such a bad habit, one easy to practice and so hard to give up.    Maybe today, we can take a few of our seconds and make a visit to church.   You can bend your knees.  You can light a candle.  You can even offer up a few words in thanksgiving for all of the blessings in your life.   It just takes a minute to bend the knee,  lift up the mind and think . . . oh my, how lucky we are . . . how truly blessed.

It is Sunday, all day, make good use of it.    Be kind, be good, be cheerful.  I never heard of a smile cracking any facial muscles.    I have often heard that a smile brings along with it a bit of love, some laughter, sometime a tear . . . a mixture of life's blessings.   So today, be a giver . . . give someone you like a special hug  and maybe they will graduate into your circle of love.    Don't be stingy . . . share you . . . someone is waiting patiently to be noticed, to be hugged, to be loved.....seems to me we all need a hug...the bigger the better..so go...improve with age and share YOU with those you like and love.   Hugs to all.
