One of my favorite trees sitting in an empyt lot in Brookings, Oregon.
Good morning. I haven't had my coffee yet so am moving slow. I actually slept in, me...now that is something new and different. We had the Pirate Luncheon yesterday at the gallery and it was quite a success. I think we had about eight tables and everyone showed up to have a special wrap sandwich with luscious fruit and tasty chips, topped off with delicious cake. Another success story and the three ladies I invited had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing the gallery for the first time. They were very impressed and have decided to visit more often. The Gallery ladies did a fantastic job of decorating the tables with the Pirate's parrot and some of the jewels and bracelets spilled out on colorful rocks and the wrapped beach candy that everyone could take home with them. The decorations must have hit the spot as there were hardly any left at the end of the affair. Another great day at the gallery and the work crew made short work of putting things back in order. As a kitchen expert, I got out there and made short work of cleaning up the dishes and silverware. Some things never change and believe it or not it is fun to make things clean and bright, all ready for the next affair. I think a tea is coming up in another month or so. I know my three guests are ready to go back and see more of that wonderful art. I had many compliments on the wonderful daughters I have and I agree as they worked long and hard to help make this affair a success, and the best thing of all is that it is fun.
The weather is staying cool. This morning the workers at already here, the shades are not open as yet in the hospital wing and quiet prevails. Not a breeze, cool and calm and oh so quiet. I am running late this morning. I actually slept in past my four a.m. I had an e mail from Jock this morning telling me about the big fish he has been catching...thirty pounders....wow.....good eating coming up. He is excellent at canning so we will have some for our dinners when we go that way or he comes this way. Right now he is getting ready to go elk hunting in New Mexico and that is something he loves to do. It also gives him a chance to catch up with some of his family. We will have to try and get down for a visit and enjoy some of the 'spoils'. We are so spoiled as he has been the chief cook and bottle washer, along with daughter Pat, in making some very delicious meals for us. Some things should never change..smile.
So today, go fishing. Why not? If you do, catch a big one or two and enjoy the taste of fresh salmon right out of the river. Marinate, fire up the grill and enjoy. Don't be greedy, share....the day, the fish, the best gift of all....time....and make your day a success story. Take time out to rest, relax and give a little bit of YOU to those you love and like. Be a teller of tall tales and brag about how big that fish is that you caught. How big? That big!!! Wow, I'll be right over. Hugs to all.
