Hello!

Coffee in hand, black and hot and oh my that taste good.   No bagel around here but the toast is pretty good.    I'm awake...I'm awake...well almost......
Reminded me how fast our dollars go....no wonder....they turn into butterflies.
My chair is just like this..a wing back.....and very comfortable.   It has to be forty years old and only recovered once;  come to think of it a new covering wouldn't be at all bad but granddaughter Erin has her heart set on sitting in this chair for years to come....they were build really good in the old days....and she can recover it for her taste.    It has been a very comfortable chair and many a friend has spent some time in it.   If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy two.   My friend Violet had two such chairs sitting before her fire place and we spent many a good hour or two gabbing away.  A chair is't just a chair, it is a special seat made for sharing time and secrets.

We are heading for a heat spell so the forecasters tell us.  A shame, as the weather has been perfect.  It is nice to see some of our ladies out for a last minute walk in the evening as they go around the building and continue with their palaver as they walk along.   Our Doris is a marvel as she is to turn one hundred in February and still walks without the aid of a cane or a walker in the building, but I noted she had a walker on her outing last evening.  Smart as it is so easy to have a fall and break a hip.   She prides herself in not having to use help but I think she is wising up to the fact that the cement walks can be dangerous and having a broken hip would not be much fun.    What is that something about age and wisdom???   Some listen, some don't.....or 'pride goes before a fall" is a good way to look at it.

I had some hamburger to use up or lose so I made a nice batch of spaghetti sauce and invited Pat over for dinner.  Chris was off at a meeting...what else???   We missed her.    It turned out great and I was in the mood for a plate of spaghetti.     All that was missing was a salad and crusty bread, but think of the calories we saved....a good excuse when I didn't have any thing in the kitchen to work with.    I had found some like pieces of the puzzle and Pat put them all together.  She is a great puzzle maker.    All fifteen hundred pieces are a challenge.   It isn't easy when half the pieces are still in the box.   I never can understand how some folks can work out of the box and finish a puzzle.  I have to sort it out, set it up, lay it out color coded and then I still can't find the pieces.

So today, find a puzzle to keep you occupied.    If that doesn't suit you, go for a walk around the block and stop off at a neighbors and have a cup of coffee and pass a few minutes catching up on the news.    It is hump day, the half way mark to a new and down time weekend....when you are not catching up with the chores you didn't take time to do all week.    It is amazing how time flies when you are having fun.   I've heard that expression before.   But it is a truism and time does get away from us.  So today make a pact with yourself and work at slowing down and catching up with yourself.   A bit of rest time never hurt anyone I know of.     Find your special chair and hunker down , read awhile, snooze if you want and give yourself a midweek break, and limit yourself to puzzle time as it is addictive.

Be good, be kind, be gentle.    Treat everyone as a 'lost lover' and pass out a  few hugs and kisses . .
I can see the glow from here.    Make today a 'hug' day.   Hugs to all.
