HUM!!

Emma Says Good morning ...I think!!   Maybe later when she wakes up.   She is such a beautiful dog and so loving.   She loves her morning walk out to the park with Patricia.   She had her grooming session yesterday and is not sure she likes it;  but . . . she preens and shows her silken fur and loves to show off.     Her passion is food, never gets enough of it, and it doesn't matter what you are eating she is more than happy to share it.    I find she is not a lover of raw carrots, but any other crumb seems to be a delicacy.    She is one of those loving dogs, all heart, wants to love and be loved and doesn't think there are any bad folks in her world.    She sure isn't an attack dog and sometimes Pat could use one of those , especially if some irate person rants and raves as they walk along the sidewalk.   Some folks lose control.  Some folks mouth off without a thought to others.   Pat has met some real ones this past month when she walks Emma to the park.    It is not always a safe feeling and there is no way you can know ahead of time if a person you are about to meet is having a good or a bad day.  Why they think they can take it out on a perfect stranger is a puzzle.  Folks seem to be having a bad time these days.    Pat should carry her walking stick so she can defend herself if necessary.    How sad, our world has become so hostile.   How sad we cannot leave our doors open or even stop to help a stranger.  Yes, our world has changed and it is sad and frightening.   I guess it is time to post those ten little commandments that are the clue to a happy life.   All it takes is each one to follow the rules of the road . . . we know, we really do, but we don't do what we should to make our own lives better ...in doing so, we make the lives of those we like and love much better too.     I'd say we need to work 'on it' and strive to bring a little sunshine and happiness into the fold.     What a mixture!!!   What a great day when you take time out to be kind, considerate, and most of all loving.     So today, be a lover of life;  share YOU with those you like and love.   Make this one day shine because you can.

Our trip was cancelled without notice.    We miss our leader Karen who made it so easy to go places and do things.    It was disappointing , but Pat to the rescue and we went to an estate sale where there was a house filled with everything you can think of from a gorgeous doll collection; to glass that sparkled, books and miscellaneous 'stuff' filling the outside walk ways and all of the rooms inside the home.    I found two tiny Japanese boats colorful and just right for my book shelves.  I don't have a lot of space here in the studio apartment so small is good.   I did find a vase I liked.  I swore I'd never collect vases, and I really never did, but . . they seem to collect me...this is a small vase with a lovely sail boat picture and a beautiful blue color.    A bright spot on the book shelf.

I had news from our friend, Marcia, who is peeling apples by the bushel and making some of her applesauce to die for.   It is so delicious.  You can bet we want to take a ride down to Brookings and get some, the sooner the better but we have to plan when Pat is feeling strong and wants to drive that far.  It is a lovely drive, but a long one.    It will be such fun to share some time with Marcia, how we miss seeing her.    It is nice to think about catching up with her as soon as we can.  

We have a new project;  matchbook covers;    Pat found a box of them at a yard sale and being curious she bought them, now has me helping her sort them, and we are learning a lot about them.  Las Vegas matchbook covers are colorful and plentiful.  We have some from overseas and some from all the different states;  some in fine condition;  some in throwaway condition but all very interesting.   It is amazing how little we know about oru States and our advertisers. WE are learning....a lot.

So today if you find a matchbook take a good look at it.   You will learn a lot.   Meanwhile don't forget to be good, to be kind to be gentle and make your day a fun day;  do something you really want to do, not something you have to do.     Go......be YOU......have a ball.     Hugs to all.
