Port Orchard , the Sydney Art Gallery , talented painters and a summer day . . . who could ask for anything more!! We had over sixty folks wander through the Gallery admiring the work of Mary McInnis. A beautiful day to be out for a stroll and that Blues music was so easy to listen to.
The Gallery doors were open again this weekend but folks didn't come as we had a heat wave come through. It was hot and stayed hot into the night. It is time for the little fans to make their appearance and a few coolers wouldn't hurt. Folks headed for the beach or a cool spot and stayed put. Come to think of it , my daughter, Christine and I were cool and cozy in the gallery and enjoyed the quiet. It isn't every day you can have a whole gallery of art at your fingertips and enjoy the wonderful talent of the local artists.
We started our Sunday off with brunch at the Airport Lounge. Our friend Jock is visiting and we promised him a treat, believe me he found it to his liking and wasn't the least bit shy about testing and tasting all of the special dishes. He did go back for seconds, but he couldn't manage a third trip. We were early so had to wait for the line to open. It gave us a chance to see the chef and his workers doing their set ups and watch as they checked each dish to make sure it was perfect. The trays were piled with all kinds of muffins, then on to platters of fresh fruits. and the row of huge covered dishes of everything you could want for a Sunday morning breakfast. The only time we would all like to have an extra stomach to fill as there was not one dish that was not delicious. We needed the stomach of a cow as we waddled out like ducks in row and did not have to even think of food for the rest of the day. The summer heat came in like a furnace in winter. It was hot...hot...hot. Here at Ridgemont we are treated to a nice cold popsicle to cool us down. It works. I set up my big fan and the little air conditioning unit but it didn't work very well. It seemed to be overworked and I had to keep adding water as it evaporated quickly. I am not quite sure how to work it but hopefully I'll get the hang of it and cool off the studio apartment. Right now it is nice and cool in here, the door is open and the outside is dark and quiet. It is four thirty and I've been sitting here talking to you folks for a half hour already. I'll go back for a nap in my chair but right now I am trying to think of interesting tidbits and I seem to be all out. So I am going to love you and leave you for now. The coffee is ready and so am I. Put a lot of effort into making your Monday a good one. Treat yourself to a morning latte or a favorite drink of your choice. Add a muffin or a big jelly donut, whatever suits your fancy. Get a lot done today. Be productive. Don't forget one good deed deserves another....be good, be kind, be gentle and practice your hugs as they expand your heart muscles and make you wonderful....YOU ARE!!!!! Believe me, I know.l GO.... Be the wind beneath your wings. Hugs to all. |
