Daylight

And the geese take flight at Earl's Lake in Crescent City.

Reflections

It is Sunday, all day, and it starts off with pictures and problems and a few unnatural guttural words to the computer which was looked over by son John last evening to see if he could come up with some solutions as to why it has been acting like a sour puss. . . or an old crotchety person with a mad on.    What would we do without our computers;   some mornings I'd like to tell you but then you wouldn't read my blog any more.    The two pictures above have been shown before but that is all that would come up.   Have to admit they are from the Brookings area and it is a really lovely place to 'shoot' a picture or two.  I'd like to be walking along Lone Ranch Beach this morning enjoying the sea breeze and all the wonderful views.   One of these days when the sun really comes out and stays, I will take my camera for a walk and get some pictures of the area here.  I have a grammar school across the avenue;  there are dozens of elderly residence homes in this area, lots of medical offices, plenty of traffic and a wide avenue to run it on.    The traffic here is amazing, not to my liking, but folks have to get around and the automobile , large and small buses are the answer.

Today the Sydney Art Gallery has a new show and reception.   The table will be filled with some delectable punch and cookies.  It is the annual student show and folks will be out to see the art work their children have produced.   I haven't seen it yet but will before the morning is over.    The children do a fantastic job and hopefully a new artist is born.  The new 'court' has been sworn in so the lovely ladies will make their debut too.   The high school girls are so YOUNG, bright and beautiful and more than willing to help on all occasions.    They look very beautiful in their fancy dresses and crowns.  All in all, tradition is very important in the town of Port Orchard and it shows.

As for the elders here in Ridgemont, quiet prevails.  Lyle joined our table and we are always happy to see him.  He is busy with the genealogy  of his family and has come up with some relatives that were a bit on the active side and he is not sure if he inherited some of those genes or not.   Back in the 1800's toting a gun was normal if you were in the 'old west' and he hasn't found out if this relative survived without hanging.   He is having a lot of fun tracing his ancestry and we are enjoying the tall tales.

As for the food, has not improved even a little bit.   The paper thin pork chop covered with a slathering of cranberry sauce was not camouflaged enough to cover the awful taste of it and the potatoes were cold, fried, greasy and the corn was from a can and cold;  not to my liking so I came down to my apartment and had some yogurt. A good place to get fat with all the starches served.  Be mindful they do not add salt to anything as we elderly can't take salt...says who???   a little bit goes a long way .    I would vote that one meal in ten is eatable.   The men have finished redoing the fire alarm system, so maybe, just maybe, when I put the oven on and do my own cooking and baking the alarm will not ring for a half hour.    I may be the exception to the rule as a lot of the folks eat their plates clean and think nothing about it.

So today, fix your own meals and enjoy them.    Make something tasty and share it with family and friends.    I bought a big piece of corn beef and Patricia is going to get the vegies to go with it and cook it up for St. Pat's Day...I'm looking forward to that meal.    She tells me she hates to cook but she is a terrific cook and makes up some wonderful meals.   Christine is a great cook also and a collector of cook books.   She loves to try new dishes.    I think my new 'job' is to be a taster;  not a bad one and I am more than willing to be a 'taster'.

Granddaughter  Erin has been made manager of the health food store she works at.   She is recuperating from a stomach disorder and we are relieved she is doing better; at first it sounded like appendix or something serious for a day or two.   Not sure if it was food poisoning or not.    She is not coming for the May visit which disappoints us but the timing is off and she is keeping busy with her job and doing the wedding photography .   She is gaining a reputation so may become that photographer and get her wish after all.

So  take your camera for a walk today and share them with those you love and like.    Enjoy the new flowers that are popping up all over your yard.    the trees are blooming and Spring is coming closer by the day.  Hope you remembered to change your clock today.  Wish they would do away with that nonsense and leave our clocks alone;  our body clocks get crazy with change.    Sunday, prayer day, a day to kneel for awhile;   keep in mind all of the problems that need to be solved and resolved.   Keep in mind that You make a difference .    Be strong, be kind, be gentle . . . be a hugger and get at least ten in today, but who is counting, just hug away.   Hugs to all.
