Winter Weather

The Goats take to the trees.    Wonder how they manage to climb so high and not break the branches.    Strange!

Speaking of trees. . . an icy cloak  . . . .dressed for winter!

An icy water fall, bet there are a few icicles hanging around.

An Icy Light House.    really awesome!

Good morning.    Feeling good, had a trip to Poulsbo  early in the morning while the roads were still icy but thawing as the sun came out and warmed up.    Most of the roads were good , but a few exceptions in some of the winding lanes where the sun had yet to find a spot to beam on.   Sheila was the driver, Pat and I went along for the ride and enjoyed the winter scenes along the highway.    There were low patches of mud where ponds used to reside;  probably in the spring when the rains fall lightly and not the current frosty icy almost rain we are having.   The sun did come out and it changed the entire scene to one of awesome beauty as the trees shimmered with the frost.    Winding roads, homes hidden in the deep foliage and a huge building or a gas station peeking out on the curve of the roads.    Forest lands.    Finally a trip through the town itself and traffic picked up.   A lot of folks out and about.  We made a stop at "Sheila's" restaurant for our breakfast and I have been here before as this is where they have the Irish oatmeal with real cream and brown sugar, raisins and lovely big pecans.  The bread is homemade as is the jelly and it has to be one very satisfying meal.    I settled for a cheese omelet that I couldn't finish, it was that big.       We arrived at the casino and found a parking spot next to the door so there was no chance of slipping on the ice.   Surprised no salt or sand out on the side of the doorways.    The  casino has quite a few patrons and finding a machine was easy.    We played for awhile, lost some, won some, and coming home with the same amount I went with was a nice surprise, even though I didn't win ''the big one";  it was fun trying.

Here at Ridgemont my presence has been missed.   I have not been up to the dining area for three days due to a head cold and I didn't want to carry germs to spread so stayed away.    I had a surprise visit from Sue tonight and she stayed for a visit.   She had a cup of tea but had no room for the fancy chocolate cookies.   She left and Vinnie came down to check n me.  He wasn't sure where he stood as he played hermit for several days and we all worried about him.   He said he is due for another check up as his shaking has gotten much worse.    I hope it isn't Parkinson or one of the other auto immune disease.   He is worried as he wants to sketch and cannot when his arms start shaking.    Say a prayer for him and a few others who are having problems right now.  The biggest problem is falling;   loss of balance brings about a lot of pain and problems.   Two are in the hospital wing.

So...take heed....exercise....walk.....use those muscles......start in now to pay attention to the little quirks that start in alerting you to what is coming your way in the future.    You don't think of it as a problem now, but your body has a way of telling you what it is up to and if you listen you can save yourself years of pain and problems.    Your seconds come one second at a time...so live them one second at a time.....find reasons to be joyful, hale and hardy and full of life.    Keep your mind open;  don't allow jealousy to come your way;  be happy with what you do and what you are....then turn around, smile and share YOU with those you love and like.  Hugs to all.
