Saturday

I did it, I did it, I made it through the holidays....yippee . . .

me too, the holidays are over. . . yippee...

oh right!!  Easter will soon be here!!

but not before the cold and icy frost has left.   How beautiful a frozen bush.

The two epicureans, (Christine and Patricia) I think that is what you call instant chefs , purchased fresh fish and shrimp and scallops, right off of the fishing boat, and got out every spice you can name;  I can't as some I've never heard of and several I have. They followed the recipe and used the new cooker and came up with a delicious dinner to celebrate the New Year in.  The Razzle Dazzle pie with a dob of vanilla ice cream almost didn't make it.    Talk about being 'full'. . .   We had a little fancy cheese and special crackers while waiting for the dish to be done and watched more of the Christmas Hallmark movies to while away a bit of time.    How we wished we had the rest of our family with us, but granddaughter Erin was hosting a visit from her best friend and they were on the beach in Hawaii enjoying the surf and sunshine.   No frosty toes for them.  Son Michael was enjoying a bit of snow and cracking ice so the horses on the ranch could get a bit of water, while John and Jo were 'hanging out' at home cooking up a special meal of their own.    Meanwhile Jock was out fishing as the rain stopped in Gold Beach and the river went down so the fish were biting.   We missed you Jock but those big pears you sent for Christmas were delicious, delightful and so juicy.  They go good with special cheese and crackers.    You might have been out of sight, but you were not out of mind.   All in all the holidays are over for a little while.   Soon the winter weeks will fly bye and we will be walking around the stores checking out Valentines....smile......well you know the stores are going to be putting them out before long.    So, one more time......a big thank you to each and every one for sending cards and notes making my holidays great.  It was great to see some of you on Facebook and catch up with you.  Words and pictures to make my heart beat a bit faster as I get to spend a few moments with you.

I haven't been up for dinner here at Ridgemont so have not seen the folks.   I had what I thought was the start off a flu but it turned out to be more of a head cold so I kept away so not to pass any germs on.    Some have family so were off for the holidays and others were banded together and celebrated right here.    Some of the folks had family members stop bye and that made their day special.    All in all we will catch up and the tales will be long in the telling. . . and 'a good time was had by all".

We have a very little corner in our world, so let us work at keeping it bright and beautiful. . . filled with those we love and like. . . . doing a good deed or two here and there as we see signs of loneliness  and hurt.     Be generous....what a lovely word that is......be magnanimous.....even better word.....release your hugs and your smiles and set your world on fire....share YOU.  Hugs to all.
