but we do manage to find a bit of happiness when we shop and find something that pleases the eye, or the palate. |
should be clipped out and put on every mirror. |
I love the Italian Folks...have had many really special ones in my life. |
but think of the fun you had shopping for those you love and like. It will get paid and then you can be ready to spend, spend again for the next holiday. |
Here at Ridgemont it was quiet. Vinnie and I caught up with an hours read and got a long chapter finished in "War and Remembrance" . Vinnie was feeling a bit better but is nervous about his upcoming visit to the Veterans hospital for another test to see why he is having such tremors in his arms. Hopefully it is not Parkinson but only a test will tell. So add him to your prayers, please and thank you. There are a few others who could stand a prayer or two, in fact each one is carrying a cross in one form or another so you might as well add the whole bunch. Light a candle and include them all. Thank you, every prayer adds up to a bit of strength, kindness and love.
The big mailing job was finished yesterday. I am looking forward to a smaller job soon. It is such fun to get back into a working mode and have something useful to do. It is such a challenge to put things in order. Filing was always fun for me. I like the task of making a big mess nice and tidy. Remember, I am one that used to love to take knots out of a ball of string...just in my nature. It really does teach patience, just like doing a jig saw puzzle. Smile, remember you have to love me as one of your favorite nuts....
So time to check your checks in the checkbook and reorder, if you use them. It is safer than a credit card which seems to give some folks carte blanch to unlimited spending. You have to check your balance before writing a check to make sure you have the money to back it, thus, you are much more careful about getting into debt of any kind. I know that some folks think we should be in a paperless world but I don't agree. Getting into debt is not something that appeals to me. One company lost a customer at Christmas because they would not accept a check that had an original address crossed out and a new address hand written in. Their loss, I found someone else who found no problem and filled my order. Thus new checks and they came in a large booklet with several different versions and colors to choose from so when I next order I can pick out the one I like best. Plain ones are fine, fancy images do not help as the money line remains the same and that always changes. So off to balance the checkbook and hope I didn't make too many mistakes.
Be good, be kind, be gentle and treat your family and friends like the precious jewels they are. A touch of your hand, a smile from your eyes and their world becomes so much brighter.. Remember to light a candle for our military folks. No one won the big four million dollar lottery last night, so go buy a ticket and remember if you win a million you can adopt me. Hugs to all.
