Ladies

A lady by the name of Florence Parpartin , 1914,  invented the refrigerator.   She was one very smart lady and probably was tired of hanging out the window on a cold morning putting food into a box outside her window.    Her brain got working and here we are enjoying the fruit of her labor.

Ada Lovelace, 1842, discovered algorithms and was the first programmer ;  still being used to this day.  I wonder what she would think of what developed in the computer industry today.

Hedy Lamar ,the beautiful Hollywood actress came up with a secret communication, still used to this day.

Hats off to the ladies;   just give them some time to think and watch out as the brain is ready, willing and able to come up with new and innovative ideas.

A quiet weekend , a rainy one with an occasional brightness that didn't last too long.    Christine stopped by with a few groceries and an invitation to dinner as she and Pat were working on cooking up a special recipe for Haddock.   The word delicious doesn't do the dinner justice.   Pat makes a salad that is filled with all kinds of delicious organic fruits and vegetables;   her couscous is a combination of delectable grains and the rub for the haddock was delicious.   You put these two in the kitchen and a banquet follows.    The word 'sated' comes to mind.    Yep, and I have left overs.

Today, I am going off to the Gallery where there is an artist giving a lesson in water colors.   I have always been curious as to how that is done and today I signed up to find out.   I loved painting with oils, but haven't tried water color, so why not?   It will be interesting to see what I can do, if anything, and I'll let you know tomorrow.

Here at Ridgemont it is quiet.   I gather the loss of appetite is one of the signals to watch out for . Several eat so little you wonder how they survive.   They really don't, as they become weaker by the day.   Food is your fuel, so remember that and choose wisely to keep your body healthy.    My new neighbor has been fading away as she eats breakfast, a bit of cereal and toast, but then shoves her food around her lunch plate and has a bite or two and nothing else for the day or night....Going much to long without some aid to the body.    We are hoping she will add some of the vitamin drink to her diet so she will stop keeling over at the drop of a hat.    Lecture twenty eight came out of my mouth yesterday;  hopefully she will try one of the vitamin drinks and help herself to a few more good years.    I got a hug and she promised to eat all of her ice cream bars.

So today, think about your body.  Think about your mind.   Know that it has to be taken care of....food is your fuel.....you don't have to over indulge, but you do have to put healthy foods into it to keep the muscles and the brain in full tilt.   You need to be healthy and hardy if you want to get those good deeds done.  You need energy to pucker up and give out those hugs.   You need the use of your legs to walk where you want to get to, or drive to, as the brain needs to be fed, the heart needs to pump and you need to take good care of YOU so YOU can take good care of those you love and like.    So stock up with some of those wonderful beautiful fruits and vegetables;   add your favorite meat, or fish;   don't forget good grains;    and a bit of garlic bread doesn't hurt a bit.....try it...you may like it.;....and stay healthy and hardy and loving as only YOU can.  Hugs to all.
