We went to the History Museum yesterday.....

Peek a boo...I see you!!

Good morning.  I haven't opened the blinds as yet, but then at this time of the morning there would only be darkness to see....late to bed, early to rise...seems to be the life style around here . . . well, it is in my apartment.    I have been looking at some of the older pictures looking for something that would show you a little of the museum we went to yesterday in town.    A lovely day....a group of eight, just right, and lunch out which is okay but....smile.    The History Museum is in the center of down town so parking is a huge problem.  Our bus driver drops us off and has to go find a place to park the bus.    We are left to entertain ourselves and it is easy when you visit the local  museums which are so well done....well presented....well cared for and a pleasure to visit.  We had our lunch and now it is time to walk about and see what a little History is all about.   Each year brings changes and when you go to a museum you go back in time to a memory visit when you look at all of the old 'things' of yesteryear.    A lot of those old things were a big part of my growing up years and with it are memories of a time that was special and a learning process.   Your mind find amazing changes in what we used to use in our daily lives to what we now have.   A trip back in time.....memories that bring joy and a little sadness too.    We don't miss the 'things' but we do miss the 'people' who were so important to us as we were growing up.    The 'things' were familiar and many were put to good use, in fact, some of them are still in use.   There has been some updating of kitchen utensils but not by much.   I'd be lost without my 'old' ones and they are in good use to this day.   At this age, a visit to a History Museum brings back some memories of a more laid back time, although at the time we didn't think so..smile.    Memories of a learning time that we put to good use in our lifetime. Come to think of it, I have a few of those old 'tools' in my kitchen drawer and they are still in good use.  ...smile.

Time has flown, been sitting here enjoying a little of my own history and it is time to get busy and get dressed for a new day.  I have no special plans but will find something to do before the day is long.    I am hoping for sunshine and a walk to the corner.   I have a good book going and a rocking chair on the little porch....I have some work to get done first but you know I'll make short work of that....the porch is so much more inviting..smile.

Have yourself a 'down' day, do something good for YOU....rest, relax, and 'gear' up for a busy weekend.   I am going off with the girls to celebrate my birthday.....ninety three...don't know whether to brag or complain...smile.
