Leaves of Autumn

Fall Colors are so beautiful, a favorite time of year.

And I now have 18 books lined up in the bookcase that I was only going to use to display things.  Well, one can change their mind!!

It has been fun going to yard sales and shopping around in the 'junker' stores for little replicas of life to fill the terrariums planned for the October Gallery event.    We found a few special items yesterday , about twenty, and took them home and washed them up and they look brand new.   I found a tiny antique store, a toucan of beautiful colors, a tiered stand of iron that should house a bird or two.   Some folks must have been collectors of tiny objects and were now willing to give them to a new home.   We hope that after we find a few more of these tiny items they will find a new home in a terrarium and bring a happy smile and feeling to someone's home.  I am anxious for the meeting and see what the folks will come up with.    We have a new 'junk' store in town and it is one huge store with tons of 'stuff' and the place is a mess, dirty, crowded, and high priced.    It is so bad it is not fun to go through.    I don't mind sifting through things...but dirty things are not to my liking so I doubt it will get much attention from the folks who are looking to fill their wishes for art projects.  The owner sits at his desk watching a little screen as you walk about.  He wants to be sure you are not putting things in your pocket.    A sad commentary for a new store owner who collects other folks junk then puts a high price on it and doesn't even clean it up.    A good store to avoid in the future.  Meanwhile our quest for tiny objects continues and I'd say we are doing very well.

There was an affair in town last evening but the folks never made it up the hill to the gallery.   Our usual helpers arrived, we had a table of cookies, coffee, soft drinks and some fancy sandwiches which we all helped ourselves to for our dinner last evening.   The crew had a good feast and a lot of chatter, so I'd say a good time was had by all.    After all the traipsing around to all the yard sales, I was ready to leave early and take my shoes off....my poor feet were more than ready.  I had my feet up, the tv on, and promptly had a nap in my chair....what program was on...I'll never tell......

So the weekend is here to enjoy, the weather is going to be good here, hope it is good where you are.   I hope you find things to do and places to go and enjoy the folks you like and love.    Don't forget how good hugs are for the body and the soul.    Make sure you get your share and above all ...give....more than your share.     Be good, be kind, be gentle , shop for a few extra goodies and call a family member or a friend or two in for a gab session.    One is never lonely when they are surrounded by family and friends.   One is never lonely when sharing and caring...so today....share YOU with those you love and like.    Hugs to all.
