Old Stuff

Patricia brought me some garden produce from her very own garden.  She has become quite the gardener and the carrot I ate was crisp and delicious even though it didn't look like this one;  in fact, it was much more colorful, long and tasty.
T
That is our Emma, comfortable no matter where she goes.   Any flat surface will do.  This was tkaen at the gallery some time back but that is where we are headed this morning where we will continue with the inventory and a few other chores.    We will leave the door open and greet those who wander in.
I have shown this picture before but one can never get enough of the words of Mother Teresa who gave her life for those who had none.    What a shining example of GOOD . . . we can all take a page from her book.   When you think of her today, offer up a little prayer in thanks for all her good deeds.

The weekend is here...yeah for our team.....wonder what mischief we can get into;  there has to be some waiting for us to delve in.    We are off to the Gallery today and will meet and greet anyone who comes in our door.   I will walk around and look at the display of wonderful art work and see what is new and different.   I will also hunker down and catch up on some more inventory.   We are making headway and that makes me feel good as I like being busy and useful.

The Home Made Cafe offered its first dinners and Christine and Patricia went to test it out and I hear it was delicious as the first dinner was a salmon one and fresh salmon cooked right is about a delicious a meal as you can get.    I hope to try one of their dinners soon.   I wonder if they have a menu made up, then I can choose a favorite dish to enjoy.

It was a quiet day here at Ridgemont.   Ron came down for a visit and we talked about vacation travels in our life time.   There are not many places he has not been and given a chance he would be 'on the road again' visiting more of the places of interest here in our own United States.    Once upon a time I went on a nine day bus tour of the U.S. and it was wonderful, exciting and well worth the time and money.    I wish that we could have a senior bus trip again and do it all over again.   I would love to take Patricia up to Yellowstone National Park as she has not had the chance to revisit since she was two months old and has no memory of it...smile......Hopefully she will get to visit some of the parks ; in fact there are a few I haven't been to.    We are so lucky, here in the USA , as we have so much to see and enjoy.

I'm off to get dressed and get ready for my stint at the Gallery.   It is so nice to be able to have some place to go and something to do.   Being useful is fun . . .I think so, and I bet you do to.   I enjoy my 'down' time much better after I have caught up with a 'work' day.    Retirement is for the lazy...having time in retirement to do all the things you never had time for is a luxury.    So I am off to do my 'stint' for today and I am going to have a free lunch . . . who could ask for anything more!!!

Take time today to be good, be cheerful, put a smile on your face that lights up 'the whole human race, like its almost like being in love".....la, la, la,....hum a lot it keeps the unhappy thoughts away.  If you sing out loud you might drive your family and friends away....smile....be YOU.....be a person who 'needs people' and doesn't mind showing it.      Remember the old adage of 'you get out of life what you put into it, no more, no less . . "  SO.....be YOU.....be the best you can be and that my dear friends says a lot.    GO . . . if you cannot sparkle, then light up those eyes and shine . . . be a beacon today.   Hugs to all.
