Mothers Day

I had to go digging for a picture with all of us....taken on my birthday a couple of years ago but we all look pretty much the same.   My sweethearts, and each one has a heart as big as today and tomorrow.  They make me proud.  They make me happy .

I hope all of you mothers are surrounded by your children today if it is possible.   Some children are away and can't get home but they are there in spirit and in your heart.   Some are temporarily lost but will eventually find their way back, just have faith as you did a special and wonderful job of raising them and they have to wander a bit before making full circle back to the family nest.    There are a million family stories to be told  and each one will have a happy ending as love has a way of mending and tending to family unity.  It just takes time to grow up.

The old Biblical phase of 'sowing what you reap' comes to mind.    The miracle of having a child, a new born, a life in your hands, a huge responsibility which mother's take on without a second thought.    The miracle of birth, the learning lessons of life and the responsibility of rearing a child, nothing short of a miracle.    We mothers have no blueprints to follow and we admit to not being perfect, but we do get credit for trying ...sharing love that is boundless , effortless trying to do what is best and all the time falling into a love that cannot be described in written words for a child coming into ones life is a gift, so special, the heart spreads with a love like no other.   There is a song . . .you have heard the words
"M is for the million things she gave me;   O means that she's only growing old; T is for the tears she shed to save me; H is for her heart of  gold; E is for her eyes with love light shining; R is for right she'll always be.   Put them all together they spell MOTHER the word that means the world to me.   "  I may not have remembered all of the words but you may...so sing out loud and clear.

So today pay homage to your mother.  If she has found her way 'home' light a candle and offer up a prayer and let her know just how much you do miss her.    If you have strayed and have not forgiven her for not being 'perfect' ; get over it;  you probably are not doing such a 'hot' job either.    One can only do what they can do and it is in the trying that makes the world go around.    Be good, be kind, be generous, be forgiving, be all YOU can be.    For you were loved  in good and bad times and given a special piece of her heart.    Go...be generous with your love today....and maybe every other day....why not?  Hugs to all.
