April Hump Day

At first I thought of a bird;  then I wondered if it was origami , palm fronds so maybe it is a lily or an Iris, a gift from nature.

Spring and the  gardens begin to come alive.   Planting time again and new bulbs should be coming up if you planted some new ones last season.    Here at Ridgemont there is an area behind the building which has a steep incline that houses all kinds of little plants and bushes.   The folks on the first floor take advantage of the space and plant some tomatoes and some of their favorite flowers.   There is some yard art but not much.   The patios are small, but not too small as some have flower pots filled with colorful plants.  There is one with at least ten small pots filled with colorful flowers.   Some gardeners find a space and put a plant in it no matter what.
Here at Ridgemont it was very quiet yesterday.    The sun did come out but for the most part of the day it was overcast threatening rain which never did come.  The wind was up so not walk up to the corner and back.  I sort of hibernated for the day as I started a new book and you know what happens when you find a good read, the rest of the day gets lost and nothing gets done.    The girls were busy, Christine watched over the Gallery and Pat regrouped from her vacation trip .  That long drive back from Oregon left her with vertigo and that is never fun.   She overdid the long drive in one day which made the M.S. kick in and that creates a dizziness that is not fun.    I wish a cure could be found to erase the awful immune diseases from those that suffer with them.    If you have your health you are more than wealthy, so count your blessings.

I had some drop in company which I like.    Ron came by and we talked about some of the long drives we have taken in or lifetime.    Some of the tales brought gales of laughter especially when traveling with small children.   Like daughter Christine asking if we were there yet and we had not left the driveway.   Vinnie came down for a good long read and regaled me with tales of World War II and the details of some of the European theater.    He has a retentive type mind and must have followed the map of Europe to digest all the battles of World War II.  It amazes me that I retain so little of that era.   I was to busy being a teen ager and working and settling in Washington, D. C., dating some of the fellows as they headed overseas with that line about maybe  not coming back so they thought they should be rewarded with sex. . .ah, the tales they told, the lies they made up, and it got them nowhere.  What a line!!  Some things never change.

So today remember to be smart as well as kind and considerate.    Take good care of you.    Make your day special by sharing you with those you love and like.    Take time to share and be generous with your time today, after all it is hump day and a day to enjoy yourself with family and friends.   Call a shut in.   Bake a cake and have a tea party.   Be alive and be happy today.   Why not?  It beats being sad and gloomy.    Be alive, smile and make your seconds count.   Hugs to all.
