Here are a few of the one hundred fifty rocks we have been painting for a special May event. The folks of Port Orchard will participate in Ladies Night Out and as they stop at each store they can pick up a special rock or two for their garden. We have almost completed the pile of rocks and then Patricia brought some beach rocks back from her vacation trip and now there are lily pas to make and frogs to paint. I am told one more session and this project will be done, but the high tea is coming up and the theme has been decided and there will be some more work to do. More on that later. Busy is good. Here at Ridgemont we have had to keep our doors closed due to fire laws; although I think it means only the fire doors not each apartment door but the word is out all doors are to stay closed. This means that no one knows if they are welcome or not to visit but the girls have come up with some hilarious cartoon like pictures and are going to find a frame to hang on my door which will tell the folks they are welcome. Pat and I had a lovely ride to a small town called Manchester . A lovely two lane ride along the water pass lovely homes with a view. The town is small and the ferry boats were leaving for Seattle. What a view. You can see the Space Needle and a post card picture of Seattle across the water. We found a restaurant for lunch and it was delicious food served by a new young lady who was having her first day on the job. She did fine and the lunch crowd kept her on her toes. I bet she was exhausted when her time was up; for the day. I had a Rueben sandwich and a cup of onion soup that was delicious. Pat had the fish and chips and they were tasty too. We share and that way we get a little taste of everything. Well she couldn't eat all those fries by herself and a whole sandwich with soup is a lot of food to digest at one meal. We will go back again and maybe take time out to look the town over. It really had a nice feel to it. Doris was baking yesterday and when I got back to Ridgemont she greeted me with some homemade breakfast rolls. She sent some for Chris and Pat too. They better come and get them today as they look good enough to eat and I haven't had my breakfast yet....I am thinking of it. I woke up at three and it really is much to early to have one. I am going back to bed and read awhile and maybe fall back to sleep; one can only hope. So I hope you are sleeping soundly and when you wake up you will find a treat or two. How about some 'awful' waffles or pancakes this morning. If you were close by I'd share. It is Friday all day, the end of a busy week, and a weekend coming up to enjoy. Spring weather, popping up flowers in the garden beds, family and friends to share time with, yes, life is good. Do your part and share YOU with those you love and like. Be good, be kind, be gentle and make some one person king or queen for a day. YOU can do it!! Hugs to all. |
