Thinking

Hey there John, here is an idea for a pantry.   I think each one of us would like to have one just like this.   A clever idea to gaining more shelf space.

this was on Facebook and it needs to be shared.    Part of our problem is that we have become Agnostic and have lost our faith in our leaders both church and state.   That is not a good thing.   We need something to believe in.  We need all the help we can get to be strong and overcome the nasty's of our world.   We  need all the faith we can find to live in this world that seems to court the war mongers and ignore the peace keepers.    There are ten little commandments, a gift on how to live, and we ignore them.   Have I written those words before, many times, and they bare repeating;  but who listens. . .  hopefully we tune in now and then and start thinking about the road we travel.

On to Andy Rooney  and his words:
6. I've learned that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in any other way.
7. I've learned that no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
8. I've learned that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
9. I've learned that simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was child did wonders for     me as an adult.
10.  I've learned that life is like a roll of toilet paper.  The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
1l. I've learned that we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
12. I've learned that money doesn't buy class.

A wise man this Andy Rooney, more of his thoughts tomorrow.

As for Ridgemont, a quiet Sunday with coconut crème pie for desert; worth waiting for.   One of the lovely ladies, Lil, came to visit and take a peek at my books.  She wanted to find something light to read and I introduced her to  the 'baby' book so she could enjoy some of the antics she may have forgotten when she was raising her three girls.   It was nice to hear her laugh out loud and choose that book and two others  as her reading material for this week.

Vinnie stopped in to tell me he visited Don over in the hospital wing and reported he is not doing well.   It is sad, as we just get to know one another when a quick life change brings an end to a budding friendship.    you have to be ambulatory to stay here and sometimes the first thing to go is the ability to take care of yourself.    Life is not always 'fair'.

The door was open so Ron came in and visited for awhile.    He is a man of words and had many tales to tell about his early life and his love of travel.   He is mending quite well and soon will be able to get out of that wheel chair and on his feet again.   He intends to drive his car and go out and about and get in some walking.   It has not been fun to have to sit .  He has not said he will never sit again...smile....but he has hinted.

So company is good.  It is uplifting and fun.   So today keep an open door.   Let someone walk in and keep you smiling.   The coffee pot should be on and you don't always have to have 'something' to serve with it.  Folks like the feel of a warm cup and a good sip of good coffee or tea.    They like the feeling of warmth, not just from the cup, but from the smile on your face and the sweet soft words of welcome.   How we yearn for that.

Be good, be kind, be gentle, enjoy the weather no matter what it is and reach out as you think of one good deed for today.  You know what it is.  I don't have to spell it out.    If you had your druthers, what would you really like to do today?   Who would you choose to visit?   Who would you call?   Who would you want to spend some of those special moments with?  YOU know...so go....be the master of your life today.  Hugs to all.
