Speaking of color....this is a 'wow' cake. comes from Hawaii. aloha colors telling you how happy you can be when you share a piece of this cake; on second thought, unless there is a lot more, I'm not sharing my piece.....oh well, if you have to have a bite or two, I will but only because I love you.
February first, doesn't that have a nice ring to it? Now if we can get the ground hog to mind its manners and shorten the winter time we will have it made. I wonder who came up with that idea of a little ground hog being the weatherman. Seems that sunshine has a lot to do with or the big black snow cloud hovering about. Weather is weather, you have heard that often enough. Not really much one can do about it but enjoy it. Four seasons to enjoy and each one more wonderful than the other. I am not sure which one is my favorite as I enjoy each one as it changes. Spring brings new life and hope; Summer brings warmth and lazy days ; Fall brings color and energy to our lives and Winter lets us slow down and relax even if we do go overboard for the holidays. Speaking of holidays, remember to buy some Valentines ; remember all the sweet hearts you know and love. Daughter Pat outdid herself making a special Cantaloni dish last evening, along with a special salad and crusty bread. If John M. were with us, he would have given her a gold medal. Friend Pam joined Chris and me and we indulged to bulge. That peach pie with vanilla ice cream helped. Pam had gifts for Pat's new home and the finish of all the renovation work. She had a tree fall into her house and she is still waiting for the contractor to find time to start repairs. She has had a really tough time of it living with some plastic covering the damaged roof and ruining her kitchen. She was telling us about choosing replacements and having to come up with choosing new color, tile, and flooring. A brand new kitchen and she tells us she has lost her desire to cook. Well she can still show it off when finished and serve pizza on paper plates. Here at Ridgemont I have a new neighbor, Betty, across from my door. I hear she is 98. I can't hold that against her as we all are headed in that direction. Gina brought her over to our lunch table and introduced her . A quiet lady moving slow and I think has the start of Parkingson's so she will need a little help. We have three ladies who are reaching for the golden ring. I can't imagine being one hundred years old. . . that really is a 'wow'.
I got thrown out of the computer and thought I had lost our time today....but I got back in thanks to saving it, and here I am ready to love you and leave you. Coffee is ready and so am I. I have Doris muffins to eat up and I am more than ready for breakfast. I'd invite you to join me . . . yeah, time and space...well go out into your kitchen and heat up some coffee, sit at your table and munch on something you love and think of me. I'll be thinking of you, hoping your day is bright and beautiful just like YOU. Be good, be kind, be gentle and laugh out loud today. Hugs to all. |
