Mt. Desert Island in Maine. A glacier carved rocky coastline. How beautiful. I did get to Vermont and to New Hampshire many years ago but missed Maine. Looks like I missed some beautiful scenery and probably some wonderful fresh lobster.
I was lucky to get an attachment about travel by Kelly Hickey in which she said no passport required...Now if she had some tips on how to get the extra funds to travel we could all go off and see these wonderful places. Every State in the USA has something special to offer. Start planning now for your retirement years and save your money in a special account to travel through the United States and see exactly how beautiful our country really is. I do get the travel bug now and then. I'd like to be able to afford a trip around the world and see how the other half lives. At this age I wouldn't be able to see it all, but it would be fun trying. I do have a couple of 'home' trips to think about. Son John and I have one more plan to do a bit of sight seeing when he comes this summer. We have taken a jaunt or two over the years and it has been a head full and heart full of memories. Patricia and I had a ball exploring the Oregon coast and had some fun adventures. Just ask her about 'route 33' sometime and she will tell you a tale. Son Michael and I had a short trip to Arizona some years back but he, like daughter Christine, are not much for travel. They seem to like being where they are at and not motivated to go elsewhere. Now if I were younger and could keep up with my granddaughter, I'd see the world. That young lady is a born traveler and right now is enjoying Maui and thinking about a trip overseas to places like China, or Japan. Maybe it is the size of the lottery that is making the brain think travel; just think, you could go anywhere and everywhere first class . . .wow . . . think about that.......of course that would be after you set up a sharing account with family and friends or else took everyone along....that would really be fun. Oh well, day dreaming at four a.m. isn't all bad. So I'll come back down to earth and wish you all a good day, a day filled with memory making events.....a Tuesday . . . all day, spend your seconds like there is no tomorrow and enjoy whatever comes your way today. Be good, be kind, be gentle . . . a soft look . . . a good deed . . . a hug or two . . . um. . . and while your at it don't forget to show those pearly whites, just don't keep that smile for the dentist....be brave and smile at someone who looks like they ate a sour pickle. Be a love bug....why not? Think of all the fun you will have. Go be adventuresome. Hugs to all. |
