Good Morning!

It is early in the season;   planting just starting;   but . . . soon . . . aah!!!
and the eyes say it all . . . wonder what is so interesting, probably looking out a widow watching a bird.
well, you go out if you want to......not me....I'm content right where I am!!!

A quiet day yesterday spent watching Netflick with Chris, although her time is spent at work and I get to entertain the two kitty cats and watch her television for those special shows I do not get on my television.   We did get out for a bite to eat and met up with a couple of friends of hers.   It was interesting to sit quietly and listen to the conversation as all are connected to the local politics and very active.  They really care what happens in their little town and do not mind sharing time and energy to help make it the best little city around.    They care and that is half the battle.

The restaurant always has great chowder so you know what I had for my lunch.   Tasty and hot, a good combination.  Bec, one of our councilwomen was there with Fred who is on the council too.  They were having lunch so we got to visit.    The talk was about upcoming plans  to resolve some of the smaller problems of the city.  They care and that is half the battle.    Good folks., willing to give of their time and talents.

As for me, I got back here to Ridgemont and got back to my book.    I am in one of the 'good' parts and hate to put it down.   Murder and mayhem,  a likely combination to keep one hunkered down in an easy chair...smile!!

So, a new day, nothing planned as yet....it is early....the cars are parked, the workers have not drawn the blinds in the hospital wing, some folks like to sleep in....wonder what that is like??  Guess, I'll never know.   Something about an early bird catching a worm....yetch!!   Not me....I'm an early bird but a lazy one, sit here talking to you folks and enjoying my coffee.   So...nothing planned for today.    I will take the day as it comes...maybe, if given the opportunity, I will get to the store and pick up a few items that have run out...Kleenex for one, one should never run out of it.    Go, get ready for your new day.  Plot and plan something to do that you love to do.....visit a friend, that is always a good thing to plot and plan.    Be generous and take along something sweet, beside YOU...smile....be good, be kind, be generous.....be proud of you and all your accomplishments then put them to good use.   Hugs to all.

Sunshine!!

An old photo you have seen before, just a Monday reminder of the good eating over the weekend;   a ride out, a stop for fish and chips, and the scale tells all.
A ride to Manchester and the little restaurant was crowded so we had to find a different stop for fish and chips.   We did, and they were delicious....  A Sunday ride is always good.

Here we go, another new week and the weather is perfect.  Sunshine and a bit of a breeze.  Now if we could keep it this way we would have it made, but... all the flowers are in bloom, the bees are busy and summer is drawing nearer.  We will be getting warmer , then hot, then you will hear complaining in its best form....when it is hot we want cold, when it is cold we want hot...there is just no satisfying us....A lot of foot traffic this morning, workers on there way in to the hospital wing.    The blinds are still closed, quiet prevails, not even a light breeze this morning.   The rays of the sun are bouncing off the bushes and tree shadows are on the side of the hospital wing.   There is one pink bush loaded with flowers and a lot of the petals have fallen to the ground making it very colorful.   There are two bushes, one a dark rose shade and the other a light pink.  They bring a little life and color to the outer garden area of the hospital wing.   Sad they are to low for the folks inside to see them.  I get a good view from my second story window.

Well, the weekend was a quiet one and the ride to Manchester is always a good outing.  The parking area by the waterfront had a few visitors who were enjoying the view of Seattle across the water.    A few folks decided to go to the waterfront and visit so our restaurant was crowded.  We drove on and found a new place to try and glad we did as their fish and chips were excellent.   I am working on becoming a mermaid...smile.....

So you can tell from my good morning mail that everything stayed quiet and peaceful.   No noise withing the halls of Ridgemont.    The folks found places to go and things to do so it was very quiet around here.    I am going upstairs to our library area and look for a new book today.  I finished the murder mystery and its surprise ending, didn't know or should say, didn't guess who the culprit was.    I reread my synopsis of my early morning and added nothing new...poor you.....well you can hope for news but don't wait for anything exciting as we have a ''bunch" of old timers pacing the hallways and there really is nothing to report....oh ...the fire alarm went off but we still haven't found out why, no one admits to burning their toast.

Go...have a fun day...do something you love to do.  Be sure you have a hug or two to share...send me a verbal one, I can always use a hug or two.    Off for a refill....aah...coffee......have a good day, all day....be sweet today...sticky sweet and hang on to someone you love and like.    Hugs to all.

Good Morning!

Memories of a delicious dinner at Pat's yesterday....fresh caught haddock....yum!!!

Of course, desert......the only way to end a tasty meal.
Yep, I am walking up...a bit late this morning.   Did some reading in the wee hours....and now it is time to wake up and start a new day.  Good morning.   The usual quiet, the light blue sky, no wind of any kind, nothing moving in the parking lot, all parked and in for the morning.  The blinds are drawn over at the hospital wing and not a 'creature is stirring, no even a mouse'  .......hold on...I'll be right back....time for a refill....

AAH!!!!! Coffee!!!! My expression is not like Garfield...but close...smile.

Dinner at Pat's was 'over the top' as the expression goes;   halibut....so tasty and so good for you.   Fresh asparagus goes well with it but the samples of four delectable deserts from the local bakery was the piece of resistance as we gobbled  it all down.  There is no such word as 'diet' in our vocabulary;  there is no stopping the taste buds from enjoying every morsel and poor Emma does not find a crumb on the floor.    Jock was happy to share his catch with us.   We were happy to be able to share time and goodies with him.    He leaves us today, goes back home and hopefully off on another fishing trip or two....but hopefully a return in the near future.    Our weather was perfect and we sat out on Pat's front porch.   There is a little tree planting on going as she wants to have a shade tree for her front porch...not for some years yet...but a start...smile.    I think, if I remember correctly she now has two shade trees planted . . .so. . . in about umpteen years they should shade the front of the house; patience is a virtue. . . maybe they will be fast growing....but...they are planted and they will grow.  We enjoyed our time together and was a little disappointed that Louie's opening event was cancelled as we planned to go and wish him well with his new studio.

I hope you had a fun Sunday and shared you with those you like and love.     I'll be looking for some e-mails telling me all about your weekend.    I hope you found fun things to do, good folks to share time with and had some meals to brag about.    I hope you found reasons to laugh out loud, and enjoyed your seconds.    Family, friends, sunshine and good food all packed into one day....that is what Sundays are for.     In fact every day should be a sunshine day just because you can make it so...go...make a sunshine day and share it with those you like and love.....I'd love a little of your time but distance makes the heart grow fonder and b.s. makes the days grow longer as that old expression goes....it just means you are missed when distance is the name of the game.   Go.....be a harbinger of laughter and make some one be happy that YOU are in their life.    I am.....even if it is only shared words.   Be good, be kind, be gentle. . . be YOU!! Hugs to all.

Pink Sky

I am only a bird in a gilded cage.....smile!!!  Yep, stayed in all day yesterday, didn't venture out, quiet day, puzzle day, reading day. . . David Baldacci's "Split Second", a thriller and hard to put down.  It was a quiet day here at Ridgemont, no noise, no visitors, well Pat and Jock did drop in and say hello.  They had an adventure to another part of the State and shared their time away.

We have some excitement on going as our Louis King, from the Gallery, has opened his own shop and will have a grand opening tomorrow so we will plan to attend.  He is a fine young man and a talented photographer.  He does wonders with his train pictures and they tell a story of a long ago job he had with the railroad.   He puts on a little 'play' which is very enjoyable and he tells of his years with the railroad.   I hope one day he will have time to put on his one man show for the folks here in Ridgemont.

Have you ever stopped to hear silence?  It is a moment when there is absolutely no noise of any kind.  The sky is clear, soft grey, not blue, no clouds, the trees are still, even the car motors are silent as they wait for their owners to rev them up and drive away.     No breeze, nothing moving, utter stillness......almost like the earth stands still.    Early morning...quiet time.....before the day explodes into a hurried harangue and we blend in with the noise of the day.

Mornings are like that.....enjoy this time of day.    I am off to get a refill of my coffee, pretty good, even if I do say so myself.    I am going to put the news on, relax and enjoy it.   Join me!!!  I wish you could....been awhile since we shared time.    Be good today, do something wonderful....what ever that is that makes you smile.    Be kind, be gentle and take time to make some one in your life feel good about themselves.   Be a mentor.....a harbinger of good ....share a hug...a bit of love and laughter and your day will be a blessed one.   Hugs to all.

Cloudy!

It is early yet, it is overcast, looks like it wants to rain this morning.  Not a breeze stirring the tree leaves, not a sound from the parking lot and only a couple of cars parked right now.    A new work day for some and one of the young workers is walking bye with hot pink sneakers on.   Boy, they sure light up her way...smile.   There is not much to tell you this morning.  We had the fire alarm go off for some minutes last evening.  I never did hear what went on, no smell of smoke so I didn't bother to leave my book to find out what was going on.   Ron brought down a Remington book , pictures and tales of the West and very well done.    Doris stopped in with some breakfast muffins, in fact I have already had one and it was delicious.    Early evening I went out with Christine and had supper out...not dinner, ha, ha....a hamburger does not constitute a fancy title..and I have to admit it was very very tasty...good enough so even the crumbs disappeared.   So a quiet day, and a quiet evening constitutes peace and harmony.

I am in for a quiet day today and that is not all bad.    I have laundry day and hope to time it so I can have the wash in before I go up to lunch then when I am finished I will gather the laundry and have it done and over with so I can get back to the 'old west'.

So .....today has a lot to offer, good folks, good weather, and a few tasty treats to share. . .  who can complain???   Not me!!!   I'm off to have a refill, and a second muffin, homemade by Doris and delicious...yeah, I already had one..but they are small....well....not really but who is measuring...not me!!!

I hope your day is a good day, all day, and you find places to go and things to do that make your heart sing.    Don't forget a good deed today.   Don't forget to relax and enjoy your day.   Be good, be kind, be gentle and spread a little joy.   A hug, a kiss, a few soft words and the day is yours.  I wish you 'love'.   Hugs to all.

Good Morning!!

Gorse in bloom!!
I do a little tapping hoping some words will come up on their own...smile.
Patricia and Jock are off for a ride north today.   I was not invited....sulk, sulk.....
Brambles are beautiful.

I was wondering what to wear today.....colors do blend....um.....

Good morning.  How are you today?   Fine,,,,I hope.   It is quiet out in the parking area, all cars are in so the workers are doing their job although they have not pulled the shades open as yet.   I've been sitting here at the computer for over an hour, checking out pictures to see what I could put on and it gets harder as I have no new pictures.  I keep looking through the  old ones hoping to find one I haven't posted but I think I have used them all at one time or another.    I need to take my camera for a walk....a ride out....a vacation....um....sounds good to me.   I"d like to be going off somewhere ;  a casino trip would be nice...smile!!!!!!

I got out yesterday to the Gallery and we made some tiny trinkets for the upcoming tea.   We filled tiny little bottles with fairy dust (sand) and  little sparkles.  They came out really cute and I am sure the tea folks will love them.  The ladies are fun to be with and all love to help; all with ready fingers and a smile.    We had pizza for a treat and it was delicious.   I wish you were here to visit the gallery and see the new hangings.   We have several new artists that do different styles and they are big and beautiful.   Lovely colors and a bit more on the modern style.  Color does make the world go around...smile.

We had a family breakfast out yesterday morning.   We got up and out early so were the only patrons at the restaurant.    I had my biscuits and gravy and have to say they were delicious.   Good coffee, good company and a special treat to be out and about early in the morning.  We had to laugh as Jock ordered a breakfast pizza and enjoyed it.  He usually has a huge omelet but decided to try something different this time.    If you have not had a family breakfast out for awhile,  do....it is fun and usually delicious.    I didn't hear any complaints.

I am off for a refill.  My cup is empty.   My taste buds are screaming for something 'good' ...and there is nothing int his house....ha,ha....you have heard that before.   I am sure the muffins Doris baked yesterday are delicious....I have them all to myself...smile.....well, I would share if you were here.  I am off...you know that....and I will fill my coffee cup and enjoy some good eating....it is so easy to do...smile.    I hope your day is as 'nice' as you...I hope you stay healthy and happy....content...ready to share YOU with those you like and love.    Go....have a beautiful day....doing the things you love to do most.....share a hug, a smile, and something 'good' to eat....go...be YOU.  Hugs to all.

A New Day!

Gorse is everywhere, bright , yellow, beautiful and evasive which makes it ugly.
A new day,  off to breakfast out this morning.
Jock filled the freezer....yum!!!

A new day, a very early part of the day, not even awake yet....have to go and get ready as we are having breakfast out this morning, a treat , a gathering, a fun time.  Wish you were here to join us.

I had a nice visit with Jock yesterday.  He is looking and feeling good.    We have a breakfast date out this morning.  He and Pat are going off sight seeing  and introduce him to a bit more of Washington state.    He brought some of his catch for the freezer, and hopefully we will have a sample or two before he leaves for home.  Salmon on the grill is delicious...I'm ready for a treat.

We are going out to breakfast this morning so I have to get off the computer and go get dressed.  I wonder if we can find him one of those big omelets that he favors.   Hope they have some here like the Brookings restaurants....he really enjoys a good omelet.....me too...doesn't everyone?

I hope you have a wonderful day all day....and do go out and sample an omelet, it is good for you and gives you a kitchen break.    So put on your shoes and get going....I am.   I'll be back.

Hugs to all.

Good Morning!!!!

I am about to take a ride on my broom....thought you might like to come along!!! Good morning.  I've been awake for hours,  why?   Who k...
