Good Morning!

Be thankful if you have leaves to rake. . . wish I had a few to play in;  remembering days in Carson City where we had a huge tree that left us knee deep in leaves and it was such fun to go out and rake them up.   No trees, no leaves....um.....no fun!!

Aah!!!!  The first sip!!!!   Come to think of it I need a refill;   I'll be back!!

Do not be afraid to make choices......put a copy of this on your mirror and remind yourself to have a good day, all day, be wise and choose!!

A new day;   what are you going to do?   The workers are in, lights are on in a few of the hospital windows.   Some folks still sleeping in. . . wonder what that is like as I am one of those very early risers.   I don't choose to be, but that is the way it is....late to bed, early to rise. . . does not make one wealthy and wise...smile!!

A new day . . . not sure if I am going to get any invitations our or not.   I am hoping for an invitation out, not sure to where, but. . . any place will do.....I'd even treat to lunch.

Yesterday was a very quiet day here at Ridgemont.    I caught up with some writing and some reading so not all was lost.   As for the puzzle, um....almost ready to toss it;  well, I do think about it, but. . . I'll give it another day or two and if it doesn't start to come together I think I'll toss this one....or maybe just wait it out until I am in a puzzle mood.....wonder where that mood took off to???  All of a sudden it is boring....wow....something new, not sure where that came from.   I think 'bored' might be a good word for it.    Mood swings;  wonder where they come from;    the need to be out and about with someone you like and love usually is the answer. . . so today I will see what I can do to get out and about and share some time with the girls...that is always the makings of a great day.   Choose a friend, a family member and get out and about and have some fun today.   Go...make your today a 'G R E A T' one.....laugh out loud, dance around the kitchen, sing out loud . . .bellow if you must..smile....just do it and have a great day, all day.   Hugs to all.

Leaves !!!

Fall, a beautiful time of year, cool, calm, busy . . . yeah . . . rake in hand and work to do but what a feeling of change.  The weather is cool and calm, a bit low and slow as Fall is here and Winter not far behind.    The seasons pass so quickly, seems we were just enjoying the summer heat and now it is changing to sweater weather and thoughts of winter not far away.    Halloween coming up, ghosts and goblins, candy treats and lots of fun....seasons...changes....love and laughter, how lucky we are.  This morning the court yard is busy with parking cars, drivers moving in slowly , blinds still closed in the hospital wing and that is a good sign as it means the patients are snoozing and enjoying a good sleep.    Only one blind is open and the TV is on, screen flickering but cannot see what show is on, probably news.  I haven't put mine on yet, enjoying the quiet, the darkness, the start of a new day.   I finished my first cup of coffee so now I am going for a refill, my easy chair, the tv news of the day and feet up for awhile.   Not a bad way to start ones day.   So, go and  pour yourself your favorite morning drink and add a little bit of something sweet.. or not....toast is always good with or without jelly.  Enjoy and make your new day start a good one.   Be good, be kind, be gentle and enjoy all of today;  make someone you like and love happy . . . take a couple of treats over and join them for seconds on your coffee;   wake them up with a hug and a smile. . . be good...be kind....be YOU.   Go....have yourself a day to remember!!  Hugs to all.

Good Friday Morning!!

It is much to early to go outside;  dark out there;  no lights , no life, everyone is sleeping in this morning. . . not me.....but.....the chair looks inviting and I may put it to good use yet.....turn on the television and sleep through a few programs, so easy to do!!!

Friday .....all day.....end of the work week but a weekend coming up to do what you like to do best...you will have to write and tell me what makes you happiest;   time for family and friends, time for relaxing and enjoying moments, time for yourself....aah!!!

A busy week behind you and now you have a whole weekend to do what you love to do best....not sure what it is you really love to do but I hope you make good use of your moments and enjoy each one;  time does fly when you are having fun!!

Think of all the things you can do today to make someone you like and love happy.    Bake a cake and invite some neighbors in.   Share some news.   Share YOU and make your world a happy place.  Just do it....and watch the end results.

As for me, I had dinner with my girls and enjoyed every morsel....even desert that had to add an extra ounce or two...I wouldn't say pound as it might stay...smile.

It was a good week with a good weekend coming up.  The weather is Fall like as it should be and beautiful.   The picture clouds are fun, the air is clear and a walk out makes you feel alive and well.    How lucky we are.

I am of for a new day...have my cup empty and that will never do...news to listen to....folks to wake up and move about and a new day begins.....go....have a great one doing what you love to do best.    Hugs to all.

It is early, light beginning to show through the trees . . . a new day. . . a day to make special . . . a day to be good, be kind and be gentle.....make it a YOU day!!

There is one in every crowd!!   Must be 'me'...smile!!

Good morning.  It is dark as pitch in the driveway this morning, no activity yet, it is much too early for that....some one in the hospital wing has their TV on, can't see what program but they do have a very large screen, shades are up and a new day starts.   A few workers are parked and in but no one is working yet as the shades are drawn, all but one and now that one is closed...too early....not even coffee time.   Well, I have mine and need a refill...I'll be back.

I am back, found a sweet and salty peanut bar, not bad, should fill the void although I'd like to have some pancakes with blueberries or an awful waffle wouldn't be bad. . . it is not even five a.m. so I have time to think about what to have for a breakfast treat. . . later though, I am going to put the TV on and hunker in my  chair for awhile;   probably snooze a bit more...yeah...I can do that!!

I had a stay in day yesterday so there is nothing exciting to write about.   The table puzzle is coming along slowly, going to be a doozy as it is one of those 'tough' ones.    Ron stopped in to say hello and visit awhile.   Vinnie came with his mail to sort and share.  He must get every advertisement that comes out on the market.   Piles of mail to sort through and every other one seems to have a hand out....money honey....but they are knocking on the wrong door....smile!!  

So, a new day starts and I have no plans...yet....one never knows what opportunities come in the course of a day;   hopefully some good ones...an invitation, a trip out, .... I am about to find out a bit later when everyone begins to wake up and move about.    Say a prayer or two for those who are ill and need a little sunshine in their lives.    A few folks have minor problems, but there are some who have a burden to bear and could use a kind word and a little help.   Be good, be kind, be there for someone in need, who knows when your day will come and you will want someone to care...and share....go...be a good Samaritan.    Kindness begets kindness....try it.....Hugs to all.

Fall Wonders!!

A favorite picture, there is something soft, wise, beautiful in the lowly daisy;  rich in color at its base, a reminder of who and what we are.

Autumn fun, raking leaves, making piles, jumping in and make them scatter in the wind....a fun time for all.

Well what did you expect at this time of the morning!!!!  I am working on a refill...improvement awaits!!

Good morning, coffee pot is empty, makes two cups, so I will have to make more or do without . . . let me think about that.....while I blog......about????  No new news;   no deep thoughts;   it is early, dark as pitch outside, not a car moving in or out, no lights on in the hospital wing, the lampposts are still lit and it is just too early for traffic of any kind...no walkers, no movement...silence!!!

I would go back to bed but I am no longer sleepy.   I am awake....I think....wondering what to tell you this morning and there really is no new news.   I joined daughter Christine and went over to Pat's house for dinner last evening...a special treat..scallops...yum!!!!  Crusty bread, garden tomatoes. . . aah.....fit for a King!!!

It was a quiet day here at Ridgemont yesterday.   The bus is broken down so there will be no trips out for awhile.   It must be the season for breakdowns as there was a drying machine on in the hallway yesterday because of a water spill or leak, haven't heard the particulars, but it was on all day and there had to have been a reason.   Doris and I went for a walk up to the corner and back, around the backside of one of the buildings, on to the side grassy area then back to our own doorway.   Good exercise.    A beautiful Fall day, slight breeze, beautiful skies, picture clouds and a bench to sit on and catch up on some memories.   I probably told you all this, but bare with me as there is little or nothing new on going right now.    We are looking forward to a bus trip out soon, it is perfect weather wise and I think we are all looking forward to time away.  

So....no news is good news...so I am told.....smile......it is okay if you write and tell me what is on going in your life.    I could use a tale or two....seeing I cannot join you, I have to be satisfied with words and deeds....so get busy and write.    Stay healthy, wealthy and wise.    Don't forget a good deed or two today.  Be kind, be generous to a fault and  share you with those you like and love....Have yourself a 'good' day...all day....and find reasons to laugh out loud.   Hugs to all.

September Morn!

The leaves are dried and fall to the ground and if you are lucky you get to walk through them and make noises...smile.    Most are already gone.   The seasons change so quickly.    Doris and I went for a walk the other day and followed a path behind the building next to ours.   The pathway is actually a cemented road but leads behind the big building next to us so we can take a walk out and around and walk through the fallen leaves of the trees behind the buildings.   There is a tall fence surrounding the acreage but not tall enough to hide the huge branches which give off those wonderful, colorful fallen leaves.  Fall, crunching leaves to walk through...aah....fun and memories.

A new day, wonder what is in store for us.    There is a noisy machine in the hallway which takes care of excess water;  seems someone had a water accident in their apartment.  We haven't heard the what or why and probably will not ...which is a good idea..smile...it could be one of us at this end of the hall.    We really are careful but the buildings are old and although the upkeep is the best they can do, accidents do happen.   I have been lucky as I am in a small studio apartment and the upkeep is easy...besides what could I possibly do..um...I retract..probably a lot..smile.  

So, I am off for a refill of my coffee...good today....need to put it on my list as the girls are going to Costco soon and I am getting low...if I am out of coffee...oh what a thought....I'd be cross and surly and hard to get along with......what do you mean I already am??????   that's not a nice thought when I'm so lovable....smile.....and I do fib now and then...smile!!!!

So go, have yourself a great day doing what you love to do best.    The sky is lovely shades of blue and creamy clouds so it should be a good one to take a walk around the block.    So put on your shoes and get going...make today 'remarkable', just like you!!!  Hugs to all.

Monday!! A New One!!

Remembering September 11

Good Morning.    It is going to be a beautiful day, no plans as yet, but there is work that needs doing so the day will not be wasted.   The weekend was a busy one with time at the Gallery where there is a really lovely show , all about birds. . . . a flow of folks to view the art work, some real tasty 'goodies' on the table  and as the old saying goes.."a good time was had by all."

A new week. . . the television has a tribute to 9/11 and memories come alive.    If you get a chance, go light a candle and remember.   All of the worker cars are in , parked on an angle today all because of a couple of early birds who didn't pay attention to driving in and parking straight. . . crooked is good..smile!!  The blinds are drawn, all but one, the same room has an open blind earlier than the others, an early riser. . . smile!!  

I enjoyed my weekend, visiting the gallery is always good and fun when you get to help set up the treats that flow in.  We have some very good bakers and a few good shoppers who delight in bakery goods.   There is something for every taste and not one crumb goes to waste.   The 'bird' show is well done, so if you have a spare minute stop in and take a look for yourself.  A guarantee you will enjoy it.    Another good Sunday at the Gallery.

A new week, sky is clear and not a breeze.   Silence prevails!!   I am off for a refill and watch the news.  Our president is on talking and remembering September 11, 2001 and we remember!!! So, take time to go and light a candle in silent memory . . . if you cannot get out then light a candle at home.   It works...does't have to be in church.   Candles work no matter where you light them....and prayers work, in your favor, no matter where you say them.     So....be good, be kind, be gentle.....be YOU...share YOU with those you like and love.    Hugs to all.
